Ah. That isn't right? 'Tele' doesn't mean telephone??? :p Teleportation... 'tele' means 'far', or something to that effect, so teleportation is trasportation over a distance. Which means going places in the car is teleportation. :D

The device used by mothers to create more work for their innocent children (for example: Empty the trash can) and to give mothers another reason to yell at children ("PUT THAT IN THE TRASH CAN! NOT THE FLOOR!")

Not at all wrong. You know dictionaries have numbered definitions for words that have more than one? She just gave one! Not a problem in the least...:D
