  • My son is in 10th grade. Actually he is a good communicator, but writing takes so much work he prefers math for right now. But he has enjoyed listening to lectures on history (from Teaching Company) since he was in 5th grade.
Thanks for adding me to your friends!
Yup! Spring Break all week! :p The way I understand it, most schools in Georgia have their spring break during Masters week (do you know what that is? Some huge golf tournament held in Georgia...;))...

    I t'would be right-handed! You?

    No, I haven't, which means I prolly won't go. :p Annnnnd, thanks!! :D I thought rather nice, too. =D
Yeah -- my son has been interested in history for a long time especially the Napoleonic era. But this year he is taking advanced placement World History and all the writing is making him have second thoughts about history as a major in college :(

I actually met a family in our church whose grandfather was a fisherman living in Peru and the US worked with the Peruvian government to arrest him and have him interned in one of the camps in the US. For months his family had no idea what had happened to him, until they too were arrested and sent to the US.
Sheri!Sheri!Sheri!Sheri!Sheri! How I miss you! What've you been up to? I've just been.. you know. Boppin' along. :p  School School School. But Summer rapidly approaches!
1700's in America or Europe? or elsewhere? or globally?

I think it is wonderful that you are so focused even before college. And if you are interested in history, I guess that means you enjoy research and writing too, and aren't afraid of hard work! I really enjoyed history when I was in school, and nowadays am interested in the Japanese internment in the U.S. since my husband pastors a Japanese American church and so many of the older members actually went through the concentration camp experience. The stories they have shared with me are pretty poignant/amazing/shocking. When I was growing up though I had never heard of Internment... It was never mentioned in the textbooks.
The name of the series is, 'Dear America', they're written as diaries (sp?)...They're are a lot of books in the series though, & they all seem to be by different authors...*shrug* I haven't read them all, only a few, but the ones I did read were good...:) You can see a list of them here.

Haha! I got your PM, I'm gonna try to figure it out now. :D
lol, yeah, me too! You'd probably like those books, actually. They're historical fiction on a large span of history...each book is a new character (just a random, made up, character, I think...I haven't read them in while) The books are kinda small, though.
Yeah!!! :D I'll have to think of a new question, though...:p
