Rache! It's good to see you on here again! What I said a month ago on this profile page, remains true.
In the hope that you will return, I note here that I have written more sonnets and more Bible quizzes in your absence.
In honor of the anniversary of my Janalee's passing, I have unearthed an unusual writing thread. While Jan was with me, she loved to have me read aloud to her, usually from syrupy Christian romance novels. I did so gladly for her sake, but on the forum I playfully ridiculed the flaws of the genre. So please read my "Excerpts from the World's Worst Christian Romance Novel."
You could imagine me being in upstate New York to visit the Finger Lakes, because my first wife Mary and I camped there on a vacation in 1989; I would be there for the nostalgia. Your characters could meet me at the remarkable Corningware glass plant, which is actually a fine museum of what can be done with glass.

Or, I could be in southwest Missouri because the highways in the center of that state are a confusing mess. You could say that I had been at Fort Leonard Wood to see family members of my SECOND wife Janalee--again, truth-based. I was going to drive back to Colorado, but the road I was on--Interstate 44, I think it would be--kept forcing me south, because of the major forest preserves in the center of the state.
I would be mega-delighted to become a character in your story. If it can be done plausibly, you can say that your characters meet the ACTUAL me, by name, Joseph Ravitts, U.S. Navy Retired.

I confess that I have not read your mystery, at least not up to date; I may have looked early on. If your characters are, or could be, in Colorado, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Maryland, New York or Connecticut, a rationale could be devised for them to meet me in person.
