A New Challenge

Edmund gently layed Loretta in the small patch of grass he found which was shaded under a huge oak tree. Susan sighed looking up at Jadis while she Peter and Lucy followed Edmund over to the grass and gently sat down around Loretta , Edmund of course sitting close by her awaiting for her to awaken with the slightest bit of worry showing in his eyes.
"I'm just scared.....scared becuase I don't know whats going to happen now that Aslan has left us for this part of the journey...." Susan sighed qiuetly bringing her gaze from Jadis out across the landscape before them.

hearing Jadis's vioce seemed to break Susan right out of thought, she quickly whipped her head around in Jadis's direction, "oh....I..ah..." she sighed tears heating her eyes, "i-it's nothing really....." she brought her gaze off Jadis and across the buetiful landcape before them, she could see trees strecthing as far as the eye could see and beyond as well as lots of other buetiful sceneries, but she seemed to pay no anttention to this for her mind seemed to be fixed apon something else...for she couldn't understand why Aslan would leave them in such a time as this....

*Jadis could sense something was bothering Susan and she took Susan's chin in one of her white hands and made her face her and she looked right into Susan's eyes and spoke*"something is brothering you I can sense it it has something to do with Aslan"

Susan looked strait into Jadis's eyes, feeling Jadis's slender finger under her chin, 'how does she always do that...?' she thought to herself but the thought seemed to have vanished within the next moments, "alright...maybe something is bothering me...." she finally confessed, taking a deep breath in, "I just....can't understand why Aslan would leave us in a time like this....we need him...I need him....." tears heated her eyes for she was becmoming frustrated with herself for thinking this way for she new there were others out there who needed the Great Lion just as much as she did some even more...yet she couldn't help but missing him terribly and wishing that somehow he could stay....

Susan sighed her eyes sofenin slightly..she new Jadis was right but somhow even the famous Narnian saying didn't seem to make much sence to her...not much seemed to now for slowly but shurly Susan seemed to be loseing her cheery self and sinking into a dark depression....yet she was thankful for Jadis's sopport....."thanks" she whispered, bighting her lip in an effort to fight the oncoing tears, "thats really nice to hear after what all has happend.."

Susan looked up at Jadis qioustioningly,"you know it's funny you say that becuase I have been feeling a little bit more down lately then usaul but I don't think it's much to worry about....I just miss Aslan and when these terrible things happen it just seems to make the pain all the worse..." she said, struggeling not to allow the shakyness in her tone to show.

Susan rapped her arms around Jadis gently letting her head fall gently agiats Jadis's shoulder, "I'll try....wait...you said you know how I feel....have you battled with depression before also?" she asked the smallest hint of curiosity in her sad tone.

returning Jadis's smile, Susan hugged her tightly before releaseing her embrace on Jadis and laying down in the grass beside her, "I can't wait until the day when we'll all be together forever in Aslan's country..." she said dreamily looking up at the sky.
