After Return of the King

Arla sat down a stump far out of view. She began to cry. She picked a nearby flower and put it in her hair.

Merry-

Finding his feet moving faster than he believed they could, Merry swiftly made his way in the direction Arla had ran. The sun was now setting over the hills and the sky was a mixture of bright orange and pastel pink. Night was falling soon upon the land. Catching a quick glimpse of himself in a nearby stream, Merry shuttered. Though he had been healed of the pain, the bruises and gashes still remained. But that did not bother him too much, as long as he didn't feel them. Stopping a moment to catch his breath, Merry called,

"Arla? Arla?!? Are you out here?"

Legla sighed.
" Are you sure because you look upset when Mar yelled at you?," She ask.

Meanwhile.
Mar sat down next to the lake still with treas rolling down her cheeks.
" What am I do?,"She ask herself.

"Everything will be fine. I feel better getting out of those pathetic soldier clothes." Arla said twirling around in her dress and enjoying the feel of the soft grass beneath her feet.

Eastà sat next to her mother with a stick and string in the water.
" Want to fish with me mummy?,"She ask with a huge smile on her face

Mar put on a smile on her face.
"Sure sweetie,"She said.

Merry-

Letting his eyes slowly trace the flowing lines of Arla's glistening dress, Merry smiled weakly,

"But it is I who has brought such trouble upon you, my Lady."

"Like my cousin said no reason for formality and it was not your fault. If anything you brightened up my life not brought trouble." she said with a smile. She kissed him on his head.

Merry-

Merry could no longer help but return Arla's warm smile. Feeling her ever so gently kiss the top of his head, Merry gazed up into her sparkling eyes,

"I must admit... I do not terribly regret bringing upon such trouble."

He smiled even brighter than before, with a small twinkle in his eye.

Merry-

Immedatly noticing the bitter tears running down Easta's pale cheeks, Merry inquired urgently,

"What's wrong, Easta? What happened?"

Eastà look at him.
" Daddy do something she bleeding,"She told him.

Merry-

Merry looked down at Mar with horror. A sword stuck from out of her chest, and her breathing seemed to be slowing. Quickly stooping to the Elf's level, Merry cried,

"Mar please hold on... Mar.... I am so sorry... I..."

His voice trailed off distantly as tears began to fill his saddened eyes.

Arla quickly said something in elvish.
"I did what I could. The rest is up to her. I have to leave Merry. I probly wont be back for quite a long time." she said. "I want to make things easier not harder. My Prencence here is only going to make life harder for the both of us. I'm sorry."
