All 7 Books,To Be Filmed

I personally think they should use the Books as their only source for the plote. However I will not be bothered if the tweak a little bit here and there. After all I thought in the LWW it was better that Peter played the more mature leader than Susan, because in the books as you know they make Susan out to be a little more adventureious. Like the line were Susan says "Maybe we should go back" was orignally said bu Peter in the book. I think changes like that are acceptable. But changing the plote or characters too much would be a major mistake.

err, from a character point of view these two are harder to pull off, mainly because a section of the audience will expect to see the pevensies (or eustace or jill) as the main characters. in terms of setting it's harder because there's very little transition between the pevensies' narnia and shasta's calormen in HHB or even the narnia before it came to be and the woods between the worlds in MN. from a filmmaking point of view these two are also harder to conceive as sequels, because the stories are almost entirely separate from the other five books. in addition, the creation of narnia in MN will be next to impossible to pull off visually, perhaps even harder than the end of narnia in LB. frankly, i don't see HHB and MN being a financial or critical success, especially after four or five other narnia films to serve as a basis for comparison. but i'll say the filmmakers are free to prove me wrong.
 
I think they can pull off MN and LB if they get a bigger budget. The only way to pul lthat off is for the rest of the flims to make big bucks at the box office. So the key to their sucess is doing these next films right, otherwise doing MN and LB will be more than diffcult, it become almost impossible. However as I said before I have faith in Walden Media.

I never watched the LWW BBC's ones, but I already watched PC.

I'm so sorry but, I only hope that Walden will make it better for PC rather than the BBC ones...

None taken I haven't seen the PC BBC and I too hope they do PC really well.

No, I didn't make the script, but I like most of the BBC scripts better since they stick to the books closer.

I agree that I hope that they do well in making PC. I think they will from what I saw at Comic Con. The BBC PC was lacking compared to all the other BBC movies. I just hope that if they do make all 7 with Walden/Disney that they'll try to stay closer to the books and only embellish what's already there rather than turn it into a sort of fan fiction movie based on the books.

Don't worry Dani, you're always entitled to your opinion...by all means speak it freely. I can see where you're coming from.
 
I think I'm most excited to see The Voyage of Dawn Treader and The Last Battle made into films. Especially the LB.
 
I read somewhere they were only going to make 5 movies...but that was a while ago, so that's probably changed. I totally can't wait for S.C., VODT, and HHB...let me take that back; I can't wait for all of them! :D
 
I think the two hardest will be MN and LB. Actually, I don't think they can successfully nail the end of LB or the creation of Narnia in MN. There's just too much there that I don't believe can possibly be created on screen. I'd like to see what they do accomplish but I don't think those scenes are possible for anyone.
 
I'm wondering how many years it's going to take to make the rest of the Narnia films. If it takes two years to make each it will take a total 10 years to complete the Chronicles (Not counting PC). However if they do a few each year like how Peter Jackson did for LOTR it won't take nearly so long. I hope they take the Peter Jackson approach otherwise I'll be 28 years old when the Last Battle is released!

They're planning on all 7 being filmed and they're fast tracking SC. We'll see how well that goes. I'm just glad they're going to do all 7...provided they do them well.
 
I agree, I hope the quailty of the films stays level and does not degrade because of rushing or lack of funds. I suspect that Anderson will continue to do a stellar job and that all seven will be the best film adaptions of the books. I can't wait for them to do the TLB, HHB, and VDT.
 
I think they will ask any recurring characters to be played by the actors and actresses that played them the first go around.

Adamson will stay involved in the films, but he has said after PC that he will not direct them again. Michael Apted is set for VDT, and who knows who will direct the rest of them.

Another director can either be a good thing or a bad thing. A diffrent director can either keep the flow of the series and prehapes do it better or he will cause it to crumble. I only hope Michael Apted is up to the challenge of taking on this huge franchise and that he realizes the responsibility he has to the fans, to make sure he does it right.
