I'm for it for those same reasons. She connected with so many millions of young people (and old fogies like me) with ideals of friendship, loyalty, fair play and love ... These are things that don't get enough emphasis today.

And welcome back inked! Nice to see you here!

I would want her too. And it would be great if she did. But if she doesn't then I will be alright with it. She has given so much to the literary world already. And she brought back the enjoyment of reading for kids again and introduced them to other fantastic series of childrens literature. The books she helped kids get more into are Narnia, Lemony Snicket etc... Also adults too! She truly is an inspiration.

She made millions of people truly enjoy books again, and even if her books aren't the best written things in the whole world, how important is that in comparison to all she did for people's general enjoyment of reading? I think she really deserves it :)

One of the greatest things about her, is that she will be truly surprised and humble if she does get it. Rather like Meryl Streep actually, who is literally ALWAYS surprised when she wins something. :p

You only know that because you stalk Meryl Streep. Just saying.

But yeah, JK will be. She always is, and it just makes it so much better when she gets stuff that we know that she deserves because she isn't cocky or assured, she's unsure of herself and her abilities, and that just makes her better.

I don't think I would do that, cause then I would freak her out and then she wouldn't sign by books, and my wand case. :p

Well, yes. She's really weird about signing things though. :( A lot of authors you can just send them books and they'll sign them, but she doesn't do that.

Only because EVERYONE sends her a book, she's very busy. I want to send her a fan letter. really.badly

I am sad too, but it was time to move on, I guess. Everything must end at one point. At least we still have Pottermore!(which I love)

Some might have access to Pottermore. All I get is the beta-site message and some links elsewhere. I am not impressed.

perhaps some kind soul could correct some error I am making?

Yes series do end. But we always have the books and go back to them again. I remember when the final book came out in 2007. I went to the midnight release party at my local Barnes and Noble. It was such a joyous yet emotional affair. It was great to see all of the people that showed up in costume and that they were of all ages, and the huge impact that Harry Potter had on the literary world. It has opened the world of reading for enjoyment to thousands across the world, and to discover fantastic series of books new and old.

It may have been time to move on, but we will always have fantastic works of literature come our way and we will never want them to end, because they bring that much enjoyment into our lives, we get attached to the characters and they along with the book or books become a huge part of our lives. Plus JKR has a new book thats going to be coming out soon. Its suppose to be geared towards adults, but the one's who were young when HP first came out are young adults or older anyway. It will be interesting to see what her new novel is about.
