Anti-Arwen!

Even though I have not been the biggest fan of the Arwen in the movie, it is kind of rude to make a site like that. Some of it made me laugh, but it still kind of upset me. Then again, I couldn't really stand her in the movie. It was nice to put her in the movie, but she suddenly became this massize character, even though she wasn't really that in the book. It's my opinion though. You don't have to agree.

I never have been a great fan of Arwen, i mean: in the books there isn't much to be a fan for, since she has this really small part, and in the movies... well, she stole Glorfindels part  (of course that wasn't her fault, since Peter Jackson wanted to give her a bigger role, but still...) However, to make such a site about, well, that goes a little far:D

(but the name on the third place still annoys me ;))

Since it was unavoidable that the LOTR movie would leave out things from the books, it did make sense to "borrow" Glorfindel's function as a way of allowing Arwen to be in the action. Besides, Liv Tyler is SO-O-O-O gorgeous, it's hard to object to anything that gives her more on-screen time. But I was irritated by the fact that the first LOTR trailer I ever saw made it look as if the entire movie was _about_ Arwen.

I still think although Liv is a very gorgeous girl, Arwen was made weaker than she was. Especially in the thirth movie. It was like Arwen was made with the same material as the ring, but her faith had nothing to do with the ring. Her faith had to do with Aragorn. She was elvish and she was immortal, so how could she been dying? If the ring was not destroyed, she would have died. That is not true. That part disturbs me the most.
She is so much stronger in the books.

Well, part of it is true, i mean: if the ring wasn't destroyed and Sauron would have found it, he would have ruled middle earth, and would have destroyed everything good, also Arwen... but yeah, in the movies that was irritating, because she didn't have to be sick and half dying when Sauron didn't had the ring.

 Why is everybody upset that Arwen had a big part in the films? If they had given Frodo the whole films, everybody would have been happy, (maybe everybody; I wouldn't have) but giving females a larger role seemed a bit better.

I'm the only one who loves Arwen and who played her; (not that way, sheesh!) but as a character and actress.

sorry. im not really mad at her. it is all in jest because she took the part of one of my beloved elves Glorfindel. there isnt really anything wrong with her.

Yes. In the books I like Arwen. But the movies ruined her. The Glorfindel replacment wouldn't bother me quite as much, if it weren't so obviously feminist. And that whole thing about the ring/Arwen...? Where'd they get that!?! It's not in the book, at all. Just makes her look wimpy.

Well, it's almost like they made her too tough, so she ended up looking wimpy because it was over-done. I dunno... I think she's kinda wimpy in the movies, too. Eowyn was cool. But Arwen... sorry, I don't think so.
