*revives thread
* Can't believe I never saw this!
In general, I tend to listen to more Christian rock, Christian metal and recently Christian hardcore... not so much Christian pop. Sadly, I have to agree that almost all of it is exactly what it has been described to be in this thread...
So these are mostly Christian rock/Christian alternative rock bands:
Kutless-
Some people complained on this thread that there are bands that have okay lyrics, but their music suffers. Kutless is not one of those bands. Yes, their lyrics are incredible, meaningful, but their music has real dimension, beautiful melodies, and originality in style and chords. Also, I just saw them in concert, and I can say that they mean every single word they sing. I suggest you check out
I Do Not Belong (One of their softer-sounding songs) and
Overcoming Me (more their usual style). And also
What Faith Can Do, off their new worship album coming out this month.
Relient K-
Relient K is not strictly music about God, it's more like songs by Christians for Christians. I was first attracted to the band by their style, now I like them because of their awesome, hilarious lyrics.
Be My Escape, one of my personal favorites is
Bite My Tongue, but I seriously haven't found a song of theirs that I didn't like.
Paul Colman-
The One Thing and (there aren't any lyrics vids for this particular song on Youtube, so...)
Run.
Thousand Foot Krutch-
AMAZING band, their music is incredible. One of their softer songs is
Breathe You In,
Forward Motion.
FM Static-
Great Christian band, a side project of TFK's lead singer. Their newest album, Dear Diary, is my favorite.
Take Me As I Am,
Dear God.
Fransesca Battistelli-
I don't like a lot of female singers, but Fransesca Battistelli is an exception, definitely.
Incredible voice, wonderful songs, lyricwise and musicwise.
Beautiful, Beautiful,
Forever Love
These are just some off the top of my head, there's a LOT more...
EDIT: Wow, I didn't realize it was that long... lol.
