Sarah's mouth fell open when she saw the bracelet. "You didn't have to get me this. It must have cost a fortune."
Nick smiled and stepped inside, “Nice place. How are you today?”
Chez leaned back and crossed his fingers in the shape of a cross in front of him, “Down, down!” he playfully hollered as she went off about the coach. As she sat down he looked around the room avoiding eye contact, “Not much. It all kind of died four years ago.”
Ceagin smiled at her amazement, “It doesn’t matter how much it cost. You have helped me in a way that I could never repay so this is my very feeble way of trying to say thank you.” He took out the bracelet and put it on her wrist, “I mean it’s not like their diamonds or anything.”

“Well I feel like my life has been but in a blender and turned on high,” he said with a smile, “I haven’t been getting much sleep so if I’m cranky just hit me.”
“A lot of things happened. Someone died and that changed everything in my life including where I lived. I moved up here to live with Nick and never got involved in anything at all.” He took a drink of his soda, “I never really wanted to get involved…like I said everything just died along with…” he sopped. He wanted to talk but he couldn’t. the blame came back full force with the pain not far behind. It was still so fresh.
“I’m glad you like them,” he said nodding at the waitress as he repeated their order, “they were my sisters.” He looked at the bracelet and gently touched it, “She would have wanted you to have them.”

Ceagin smiled. He knew she would and it was his way of letting go.
“Yah but first,” Nick put his arms around her waist, “I want to do this,” and leaned forward and kissed her.
Chez nodded in understanding, “and then when you move you realize the next thing you want to do is get away from yourself but you can’t and it nearly drives you insane.” Other than Ceagin there had never been anyone who really understood him. It felt to good to talk to someone who knew, who could identify.

Nick groaned and laid his head on her shoulder, “I know…I know. Ok lets get it over with. He sat down and pulled out all his notes.”
Washing down his burger with some pop he thought for a moment, “No not really any plans. I might go home for Christmas and then again I just might stay here. How about you?”
Chez smiled a thoughtful sort of smile. He looked up from his can and strait at Kiera, “it’s like there’s a hole inside of you that no one can fill and it just seems to get bigger by the day.” He leaned forward and set his elbows on his knees, “who did you lose?” the more they talked the more open he felt with her. He knew she could understand where he was coming from and it felt good to understand someone else for a change.
