I'm not going to call myself a Dr. Who fan just yet ... My best friend LOVES Dr. Who, and she has showed me a few of the episodes. They are pretty interesting so far, but slightly confusing because she started me in like the middle... But still, they are pretty good. :)

You should go back to page 140 for a complete chronological list of the modern Doctor Who series.

Thanks for all of the stuff on the video. I know we were a bit fast, we were pretty nervous. It's cool to say that your on the BBC America youtube channel.

anything going on in the Whoniverse? I was at camp this week, I'm kinda lost.

Not much, except that BBC America has been running a lot of Doctor Who related episodes and specials. They've also been running the extended trailer for series 7 but they are not giving a specif date, only saying "coming this fall."

I was watching the Timey Wimey of Doctor Who. Very interesting. Most of it sounds like my friends conversations with me. I also saw the trailer on BBC America. I loved it. I wish it would come sooner.

I found out last night that the 7th series premiere of Doctor Who is
TODAY!

Yes, the new series starts today, September 1st. In the United States, you can watch it on BBC America at 9 PM. I'm pretty sure the episode will be available on Netflix and iTunes right after, so don't miss it!

On another note, I bought my back issue of Entertainment Weekly of August 3rd with the Doctor Who cover story. And no, I do not buy this magazine at all, only this issue because of the cover story.

I knew that for a week, my friends and I are going nuts. I'm really excited. But I'm really sad because the Pond's of leaving soon!

My sister and I just watched "Asylum of the Daleks". It was absolutely brilliant! :D Here is my mostly spoiler-free analysis; the spoiler-y parts are in light type.

From what I had heard in advance, I was rather uncertain about the direction the show was taking, but Steven Moffat had thoroughly fooled me. :D

The whole plot was just brilliant, and the ENDING! *squeals* Oh, it was just fantastic! As the episode progressed, my sister and I could guess aspects of the plot, but it was so expertly unfolded that not a bit of it was predictable.

Steven Moffat made the daleks cool again. I have never been a fan of them, because they seem overdone and not so scary, but the way they were handled in this episode was absolutely brilliant.

The whole thing was so exciting! And I cried. This was totally worth the wait.

Now for the spoiler-y part...

I was so excited when they introduced Oswin! I was not expecting the new companion to show up until the Christmas special. By the precedent set and by what I had heard, I assumed that the Doctor would only meet her after Amy and Rory are gone, but I think I'm going to like this way better.

She was such a fun character! I adore her already. It was absolutely brilliant to bring her in as they did, and I LOVED IT!

I am going to be honest, I cried a few times. It was amazing. So worth the wait. You have to see it, if you haven't. It really is one of the best episodes, I think.

I agree that the episode was great. The plot and the way it was executed was great. The Daleks of course were perfect villains as usual and (spoiler) Oswin was brilliant. However, I think the Ponds were a bit irrelevant in this one. The whole episode would have been great without them. And that's to put it mildly.

I agree with BK. They pushed the Pond storyline too much and while they're my favorite pairing ever I found myself not caring, at all. It was too rushed/too contrived. It didn't give me any real feeling.
I did enjoy Amy and Rory in the episode, separately. Rory's ridiculous questions and knack for finding trouble and Amy having missed traveling with the Doctor were high points...

Oswin, however, gave me all the feeling. She was lovely.

And I think, Sun, that perhaps that was kind of the point. Maybe Moffat wanted us to feel that way,
to make us fall in love with Oswin. Amy and Rory are so brilliant and funny and loved that it will be heartbreaking to let them go, so maybe he's trying to convince us we can and do adore the next companion before she enters the stage permanently.

I know it was supposed to be Rory's and Amy's episodes but [Oswin made me cry like a baby. I already love her, she is amazing

I thoroughly enjoyed last weeks episode.

Throughout I found Oswin slightly disconcerting. Something was wrong with her and the twist was fabulous. Amy and Rory were good. its so heartbreaking she can't have kids.:(
I think the Daleks were terrified of Oswin. They put her in a padded room! a daleks was so human they blew up the planet because of her. and now they can't remember doctor. doesn't make much sense to me. I'm sure Moffat will do a lot with that!

I know Matt Smith is the youngest Doctor Who actor but he seems so much older than DT or CE.

I don't really like Owsin *Hides*
But I am going to give her the series before I make my mind up fully.
On the other hand I loved today's gang! :D

We're another episode closer to the Ponds leaving, yay! I am so ready for something new and fresh!
