LOL! That is very humorous!GrayCloak said:Liv just always looked like she was distracted by something shiny.
No. Arwen's expanded role = good.borntofly said:I didn't like Galadriel, and was frustrated by how large Arwen's part in the movie was.

Arwen = pretty.
Well, Arwen was such a doll, they decided to give his part to her. For us hopeless romantics, this worked better ...borntofly said:I agree with the pretty part...but what happend to Glorfindel?
I agree, that dynamic was lost, and that was too bad, because Dernhelm was almost a character in herself, with that death wish in her eyes ... Now, is the director's cut the same as the special extended edition DVD? Cuz I have all those, and it's great to watch and pick out which bits weren't in the cinema version. I have to say, although they are longer, they are much better with the additional scenes!borntofly said:What happened to Dernhelm in the movie? Merry just knew it was Eowyn...argh!
I think the directer's cut and extended version are the same. I want to see all of those scenes, and didn't they write music for the scenes as well? aghh! I want them!inkspot said:I agree, that dynamic was lost, and that was too bad, because Dernhelm was almost a character in herself, with that death wish in her eyes ... Arwen anything! yup, same here, but Arwen did well in RotK, alomost exactly like the book. Why did they make up that scene with Sam leaving? Don't forget Treebeard's indecision (i didn't like thatNarnian Jedi said:Once I've read LOTR, the movies pale in comparison. They should have stayed true to the books. If they 'tweaked' some scenes and made them faithful to the book (scenes like Sam leaving Frodo, Arwen anything, Theoden's indecision, most of the Helm's Deep battle, etc...) It would have been much better. But I still love the movies they were very well made.

Don't forget Treebeard's indecision (i didn't like that). the battle at Helm's deep bugged me, and come on, the elves didn't fight at helm's deep. THe could have tweak a lot of the scenes to make them more lie the book, but that's okay. They are indeed good movies, just a little messy.
