3 weeks with 46 children aged between 6 and 15, listening to rap, r'n'b, stuff like that, cleaning everything behind them....... I thought I was about to be mad (maria even went mad twice.... Never thought she could be that scarying when she's furious!!!!!)...

C'est mademoiselle (I'm an 18 years old girl and I'm not married... Yet, lol).
No it's not really necessary, you can speak either in french or in english here.

Alors Angie, fan de Samantha ? J'ai les deux premier DVD. C'est géniale, moi j'adore.

Annoucement heard and I'm gonna imply it ES (by using my english more than I actually do.
Yep maria, that IS possible... But the day I'll be speaking english at home, just take my english classbook and hit me with it.

Lisa already did it and it doesn't work....
Why does everybody thinks I'm using it too much???)

I dont know, lol..

Tues as quel age?

did i do that right?
Actually, it's "Tu as quel age"... "es" is from the verb "être", which we do not use when we say our age. But that one is when you wanna write it. If you'rte speaking, you do not pronounce the "u" of "tu", so it gives "T'as quel age?"

Lemme see... I was born in February 1988, the 28th.... So I'm supposed to be 18.... Both physically and morally...
3 weeks ago, a girl I worked with thought I was 13... And sometimes I act like a 6 years old child...
So I'm really SUPPOSED to be 18.
lol

I'm going to try and learn French...is there any helpful hints people would like to give?

And, does anyone have a copy of a CD by the title of Libre, by Sébastien Izambard, released in 2000, 11 tracks...and would you be willing to part with it? (to me!)

Just asking....

The best things to learn another language are:
- reading (helps a lot with spelling)
- listening to that language: first, try with some DVDs especially if you can have the subtitles, because you can read them while listening and you can get the right pronounciation. Second, try to listen to french singers as much as you can
- try to speak to french people (it may not be easy at the beginning)

But if you need some help, just PM me or add me in your msn contact list, and I'll do my best to help you.

Ah yes....
I had forgotten that I'd need to learn to spell French as well as speak it!
Yes, I have DVD's with French language options...that's agood idea. And what kind of French singers are good to listen to? I'm looking for the CD I mentioned in the above message, but he's a pop singer, so is that good or no?
I don't have any French people to talk to, but when my parents were doing language study, they said that the most helpful thing was actually going out and talking to people.

Thanks for the help offer and these tips! I haven't really started yet, but I hope to soon!

lol, that's what I've been doing for a few months, for my english classes (it's better than listening to my teachers)

H
ere's a link to listen to some parts of his songs
http://users.skynet.be/fa347552/musique.htm
Personally, I've never heard of him, just found that a few minutes ago.
Apparently, he's singing a bit too fast for someone who's just beginning french.
IMO, u should listen to Zazie first, she does not have an accent and some of her songs are really slow, so I guess it's quite good to begin... And to know some play on words, lol. She's a pop/rock singer really well known here.... Kyo, it's a band, kinda the same as Zazie, or Madame Kay (another french band, singing a bit faster than Kyo and Zazie, but just a bit, like in a normal conversation)... I can quote another few ones, but they sing faster than the last ones (depends on the songs in fact)... Pascal Obispo, Florent Pagny, Dionysos, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Téléphone, Indochine....

Yes, I have the songs on his CD, but I don't have his CD...I was just hoping to obtain a copy. Yeah, I think someone else said he was singing pretty fast as well.

Do any of these people have websites or places where I can listen to their music?
