dream job

I have my dream job, writing every day. It could be improved if I could make a lavish living doing my own creative writing instead of stock assignments for other people (and even that could be improved if I could make a lavish living doing it).

Smog, to dream of being a pastor is very good and noble.

Same question: dream job?

Well Ive sorta already answered Inkspots question but to extrapolate (woo big word!!), I love people who make me laugh (ok so not much extrapolation). One odd thing tho is that my best friend is actually someone youd never expect. He's an avid athiest and loves debating (which is my least favourtie hobby!!) but somehow we get on like a house on fire!?!?! Who knows!!!

Other question... dream job is languages - je les adore!!!!!! Anything that means I can speak lotsa langs!!!!

Q. What is the worst thing a friend can do to you??

apostasize!

Apatosaur is a dinosaur like a Brontosaurus.

Apostasy is a state of rejecting/forgetting the faith. It means, I think, a "falling away" from the faith.

Apostasize? Must be a verb of the same kind.

If a friend rejected Christ, it wouldn't be something they did to you, personally. It would be sad for them, of course, but if it should happen, don't take it as a personal slight and get mad at them -- you might never have the opportunity to pull them back toward faith in Christ if you get mad at them and reject them.

I think the worst thing a friend could do to me at this point would be to bootlegmy creation and post it on the web without my permission. Heh -- just kidding cuz of the debate going on the other thread, bootlegs.

LOL! Cheers inkspot!!

The worst a friend could do to me is betray me. I think trust is very important!

Same Q.

Trust is indeed important..I think my friends would have to do something pretty terrible to drive me away, one of then has already put me i hospital, so if i can forgive that then i can forgive anything.!! (It sounds awful, but it wasn't that bad, well..)
I'm pretty forgiving really (or a walkover some might say), so it would have to be a crime of the greatest magnitude- maybe some heavy betraying, with perhaps a side order of murder?!

I'm thinking maybe the worst thing a friend could do is tell me I'm a horrible friend, after I try so hard to be trustworthy, honest, etc. (Maybe it'd be the "honest" part that would make them say that; I say it like it is when I have to [in love ofcourse], and sometimes people don't want to hear the truth). Aha! that's the worst thing a friend could do to me. Pretend there's nothing wrong when there is, refuse to let me talk to them or pray with them about it, etc.

If they did it

We've been talking about the worst thing a friend could do to you ... well, what if they did it?

Would you forgive a friend who did the worst to you?
Explain your answer ...

I would, not because I'm a bit of a pushover - I would like to think that I can when needs be stick to my guns, but I think that you chose the people with whom you want to be friends, and that entails a great deal- sharing your life with them, good times, bad times, relying on each other following each toher on the various paths you take, and if someone is willing to go with you on that journey then you should be able find it within yourself to forgive them whatever they've done, afterall I would most probably expect them to forgive me (but I suppose it would depend on the 'crime).
Even at my *great age* (a massive 24!) I've done things which could have ruined my greatest friendships and have been forgiven, and in my turn I have forgiven those who did things which hurt me.

Well, I would, of course. I'm not saying it would be easy, or that I'm just naturally a forgiving person. It's just that I am a Christian, and Christ taught us to forgive others as He forgave us. I think it would be blatant hypocrisy to say I believe in Christ but choose not to forgive my friends, no matter what they had done to me.

Ideal job: Writing, or some other sort of job where I would use language like crazy (WHB, I think the phrase you used was French, and that it roguhly means, "I adore them." Am I right?!?!??!?!).

Kind of person to hang out with: Like Luni, I value honesty in love--"speak the truth in love." Those last 2 words are key, though (i.e., don't tell someone they did a horrible job, tell them where they could improve--"constructive criticism").

Forgiveness: As the day is long, for I am nowhere near perfect, and need as much mercy as God & others can grant me!

Q: How old were you when you (1) got your license and (2) got your first car?

I got my license when I was 18, because I was living in Brazil until then, where people can't get their licenses until they're 18 anyway. I drove one of my dad's cars around for a while, then my grandparents gave me a car (well, I paid a very small amount for it, so they'll say they "sold" it to me) a few months later. I think that was January of last year, so I would have been almost 19 (I'm 20 now). It may have been December of the year before... all I know is that it was snowing out and I almost lost control of the car. But I still have it, and its name is Mario (it's an '88 Ford Tempo).
Ok, for the next person, same questions: How old were you when you got your license and when you got your first car?

Explain your answer ...

Well, the problem is that it has already happened to me by one of my best friends, and unless they accept Christ the friendship is gone.

However, I'm with Aragorn, because God has forgiven me, I must forgive others.

Well, when I get my first car I'll tell you :D

Same Q. When did you get your lisence/ first car?

I got my license at 16 and my car at 17, and I'm still paying it off... It's a 1993 black Mazda Miata. I call it the Mattmobile.

I don't have either! augh! I'll let you all know when that changes. ;)

Same question I guess...

P.S. Oh, and I just echo Faerie's opinion on the forgiveness thing. Christ forgives and "forgets" so I should too. People need second chances, third chances, and so on and so forth.

New question!

If you could choose any book, story, play, etc. to be made into a movie -- and provided it was well-made and did the story justice -- what would it be? (Narnia doesn't count ;-) )

That's a tough one because I can think of many. Maybe some of Lloyd Alexander's books, but I definitely think that certain stories in the Bible could make awesome movies. I admit, I spend hours dreaming up the possibilities sometimes. ;) (*Luni

I always get such a dose of 'the fear' when they make books into films, that I have trouble thinking about it! 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin' was a disaster! Carl Hiassen books could be amusing- simple but very funny dialogue, and some action too- lots of bad language tho *g*

Same Q

Comedy tonight

Got to be Herman Wouk's
"Don't Stop the Carnival."

If you have ever lived/worked in the Caribbean, you will find this the funniest book!!!

If I could be guaranteed the movie would be well done and give the book its due, I would see it again and again ...

Same question:
What book would you have made into a movie if you could guarantee it would be done right?
