Greek Mythology

Oooh I love mythology. I learned quite a bit of it for my quiz bowl team. My favorite is Norse though :D I do love Greek mythology too. My favorite goddess: Artemis, and I have no idea why :p And I like Hermes...

Artemis, the goddess of hunt. She's alright :)

Hermes? Maybe because he's the messengers and he wears winged sandals lol
 
I feel bad for Hephaestus, the blacksmith for the gods. So ugly yet he's married to Aphrodite and she's always cheating on the poor guy.
 
LOL! Of course! :D And --I DONT REMEMBER THE NAMES, GET THEM MIXED UP- that one dude who ate his babies, and Hera (???) made him cough them back up?? (I could even be in the wrong mythology...hmmm. Either way...weird much? :p)

Ok I think it was Chronos who would eat his babies until Rhea deceived him by giving him a rock wrapped in a blanket instead of giving him Zeus. Zeus was then sent away to live with Gaia so that she could raise him eventually having him come back and kick Chrono's butt. He had released his uncles (the cyclops) from captivity and in return they presented him with lightning bolts as a gift. Anyways, they ended up defeating and castrating Chrono's you know what, throwing it out to see where out of the foam came forth, Aphrodite.

ah, she is my favorite goddess. i love her so much! and sorry, i do not like aphrodite very much :p
 
I love Greek Mythology. :D
My favorite god is Ares, god of war. And my favorite goddess is Eris, goddess of Discord/Strife/Chaos. She isn't mentioned much, except in, I think it was a play by Euripides. I may be wrong though, but anyways she played an important part in the Trojan War, as she started it by throwing the golden apple before the three goddesses; Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite; during the wedding of King Peleus and Thetis. And I'm sure you all know what happened afterwords with the apple of discord. ;)

Another one of my favorite myths is the myth of Glaucus and Scylla.
 
Ooooh,I love mythology..My favorite is Celtic and Norse,but I love Greek and Roman too:D..I read a whole year of mythology for school when I was about 14...*sighs happily* Jason and the Golden Fleece,Gilgamesh,and all the gods.:cool:
I like Hercules.:p
My favorite name has always been Cassandra...so I loved reading about the Trojan horse,and the prophtess named that.:p

hey did you know that in the iliad they mention an armenian amazon fighter in the war (on the trojan's side, i believe)... isn't that great? haha.
 
I love greek mythology! I was really obsessed with it in sixth grade, now I just really, REALLY like it. Lol
But, my favorite goddess is Artemis, I think. I love the name. Athena has to come second. I don't really like Aphrodite or Hera very much.
 
Aphrodite is not very popular as I can see lol

I also love the Mesopotamian Myths. Inanna Ishtar is one to give Athena a run for her money :D

I love them both.
 
haha well i know of some that like aphrodite ;)

i can never really decide if i like hera or not... she is kind of a player, but she was on the achaean's side and i hate the trojans, so... i don't know. i hate Poseidon soooo much though
