ooc: btw, L_A: Seamus Finnigan is sandy-haird; Harry, Neville, and Dean are black-haired, not Seamus.

Padma showed Shannon to the Great Hall next morning, introducing her to all her friends. She pointed out the four House tables: Gryffindor, far right; Ravenclaw, inner right; Hufflepuff, inner left; Slytherin, to the far left. Padma also told and showed Shannon which students (particularly the Slytherins) to stay clear of. She told her of all the teachers whilst they ate crepes for breakfast.
After, they went over to the Gryffindor table, and Lavender, Parvati, and Margarrita introduced Shannon to all
their friends, including Hermione Granger and her best friends, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Stumbling a bit, Shannon glanced back at Harry, who was talking with Ron about Quidditch. Cho joined them when they returned to the table, and she then insisted on introducing Shannon to her friends.
By the time Shannon left the Hall, she felt as though she'd met at least half the school: Lavender, Padma, Parvati, Margarrita, and Cho all seemed pretty popular in their Houses.
As Shannon was jostled in the crowd, trying to get to the staircases to find her Charms class, she heard Harry's voice behind her.
"Lost?" he asked, stepping beside her, grinning slightly. "I was, too, on my first day. It was a nightmare."
"Yeah, it is!" agreed Shannon, laughing slightly. She could feel her cheeks turning slightly pink.
"What class do you have?" asked Harry.
"Er, Charms."
"I'll take you," said Harry. "I've got Divination - I'm going that way."
"Alright," said Shannon, smiling.
Harry took her wrist, shoving through the crowd, which seemed to part for him, and they reached the staircase a moment or two later.
They mounted it, and went through a door at the top.
"So," asked Harry. "You know Lavender, Parvati, and Margarrita already?"
"Lavender's my sister," explained Shannon. "I met Parvati and Padma in the summer before they went to second year, and I met Margarrita on the trainride here."
"Oh," said Harry, nodding.
"Have you, Ron, and Hermione always been best friends?" asked Shannon as they went into another corridor.
"Ron and I, yeah," said Harry. "Since the trainride first year. We met Hermione then, but we thought she was a bit of a know-it-all." He grinned slightly. "We became friends with her when Ron and I saved her from a mountain troll on Halloween of first year."
"I heard about that!" said Shannon, also smiling. "Lavender told me about it!"
"Yeah..."
They were silent for a few minutes, until Harry said, "This is the Charms classroom."
"Thanks!" said Shannon, peering into the door. Sure enough, the small wizard Padma had told her was Professor Flitwick, their head-of-house and charms teacher, was standing on the floor, and a few first years she knew only by sight from the Sorting last night were there, sitting down.
"D'you think you can find it next time?" asked Harry. "If not, I'll gladly help you find it."
"No," said Shannon, a bit too quickly. "I'll be fine."
"Okay," said Harry. He smiled, then walked away.
