Kim had not spoken to Alipang again throughout the meal. As the Tisdales came to the dessert stage, Alipang knew they would soon be leaving, since they didn't have to pay. They would go someplace, and he would still be working. He was not ashamed of being a hard worker--he remembered the Scripture in Colossians chapter 3 about doing one's work as unto the Lord; but he wistfully wondered how it would feel to be popular, like Grant. Not that Alipang resented his friend; Grant was never stuck up; but the young waiter felt an envy without ill-will.

Chilena got up walking to the back " Hm can I help?," she asked, with a smile she like helping her family all the time no one notes that she was part of the their family. Chilana's mother is a niece of Mr. Imada, as Maria Ramos is a niece of Mrs. Imada. Chilana's father is a white American, former military. He married her Mom in the Philippines just before the U.S. presence was pulled out of there about 20 years ago. her Dad had no strong roots, so he didn't mind settling near his bride's uncle in Virginia..

"Good tips today, at least." Alipang smiled back, reflecting inwardly that Summer was a very nice girl--he just didn't happen ever to have taken a romantic interest in her. Nor in any of his other perfectly-likeable female friends. But that was largely because his parents had strongly discouraged him from looking in that direction before he graduated high school.

Grant finished of by singing "Times" by Tenth Avenue North which was one of his favorites. Afterwards he put his guitar up, and sat down.

OOC: Assuming Grant sits INSIDE the restaurant--

Where Grant sat was one of Alipang's tables, but Carmen Imada was covering it for the moment. "Grant! You sounded great as ever! Is the rest of your family coming?"

"Nice playing." Remarked a new voice. Kaitlyn looked back to see Jason, staring at Grant's guitar with a hint of envy. He looked a shade whiter than usual, but otherwise he looked fine.
"What are you doing out of bed?" Kaitlyn snapped. Jason turned to his sister,
"Kaitlyn..." he sounded annoyed. "You're not a nurse yet, and if you were, you'd know I'm fine." Kaitlyn crossed her arms and frowned.
"Well, what are you doing here?" She demanded. Jason glanced at Summer, then at Chilana.
"Why is Chilana working here now?" He asked, dodging the question.

"Family helps out family, that's the Filipino way," said Mr. Imada, having come within earshot. "Jason, ARE you sure you're well enough to be out and about? You know Alipang's always glad to see you, but he wouldn't want to see you harming your health."

OOC: The above is written on the impression that Confessor means for Jason to be sick.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Imada was saying to Grant and Summer, "Paying us money will be good enough to get you served." She halted herself from remarking on the Tisdales getting free food today. It might hurt their pride to have it known that they were accepting a handout under the guise of sociability.

She nodded " We sure do," she told him, with a smile " Aunt Carmen do you want me help give out the food or something?," she asked.

Summer smiled. "Good cuz' I'm starving and I can't sing when I'm hungry. I'll take whatever you want to bring me just don't make it really spicy." She said.
