"Hmm... well then she wouldn't be complaining about having nothing to do on Saturdays..." Dan laughed.

ooc: back

I guess I may have blacked out"Sorry about that, I must have blacked out, I don't know where else I could've gone.."

she laughed " Yeah, I guess so I mean now she have someone oh, we can double date if you like," she told him, still playing with his thumb.

OOC: hahah I do that a lot with my best friend Micah :] he doesn't mind me playing with his thumb.

FOR THE BENEFIT OF ANY NEW ARRIVALS:

In order to portray a school year from the start, we have jumped backwards in time, to just before Labor Day weekend of 2008. In the imaginary town of Smoky Hill, Virginia, the main characters are starting classes at the "East" of the town's two high schools. Here, in no particular order, are some of the characters who have so far figured in the action--some of them even (gasp!) adults!

JENNIFER: One of the most level-headed, clear-thinking characters of either sex in the story; also likes sports, especially lacrosse.

SAMMY ASHFORD: An African-American freshman with a lot of potential, son of a local business owner.

BRENDAN: One of the good boys, interested in attending Virginia Military Academy; likes Jennifer.

KIM TISDALE: Youngest (and best-looking) of four daughters in a poor family from which the husband and father seems to have run off.

GRANT: One of the most committed young Christians in town; he ministers in music at Redemption Free Church.

LEOPARD MAN (street nickname): An African-American just-barely-student who was first seen robbing Sammy, but who was stopped by my martial-artist character ALIPANG HAVENS.

TOM STETZER: Pastor of Redemption Church, married to ISOBEL; he is white, she is black.

FREDA LEWISTON: Principal of East High, also African-American.

CALLIE: One of numerous characters who come to this setting from previous homeschooling; at first she thought public school was going to be a great liberation, but she is quickly finding it boring after the intellectual stimulation homeschooling provided.

"I don't know," Jen admitted, blushing.

ooc: wow. only four days of rping and we've already got a second thread. this is great :D

ooc: Now the post counts will jump.

"oh". Brendan noticed her blushing. This confused him more, because maybe being confused made her blush? This was very confusing.

"Were you talking about this afternoon? Then yes the Pansit. But right now, I don't know what happened".

She laughed " Well see," she told him, snuggleing up to him.
Dan hugged Chilena in response. "Yes, we shall..."

"Being confused is a good thing. It's mean we're trying" Brendan laughed too.

There we go, I got her to laugh. Hopefully she's feeling better..

"True, I guess," Jen said. She looked at her empty Coke can and sighed. "When does the bell ring?" she looked at the clock. "I wonder what we're doing in gym..."

"I hope it's dodgeball. It's never dodgeball though. Apparently, there was a law passed that prohibits dodgeball in school, because kids get hurt. I can't think of anything more ridiculous. In the real world, the kid's gonna get hurt, might as well learn that ahead of time and be prepared." Brendan sighed.

"Really?" Jen thought over this. "I like dodgeball. We used to play it in middleschool. But then I think the principal banned it after someone gave another kid a black eye...."
