" But, Mum I need to go to school today," she told her, sneezing " I'll be fine later on," she told her, with a sigh.

"We have a chain-of-command question to clarify here, sweetheart," said Cecilia Havens, caressing her beloved daughter's hair even as she spoke sternly to her. (Melody and Harmony, looking on, could tell that Mommy was not angry at their big sister, but rather anxious for her welfare out of love.) "You are given a good deal of latitude, as in going on dates with Dan; but where your health is concerned, I am in charge of defining 'fine.' You will stay at home and in bed until either I say otherwise, or the house catches fire."

" Yes, Mother I'll be fine I guess can I have some soup please I'm hungry?," she told her, with a sigh " Oh, they can't be in here," she told her.

Grant locked, and secured his bike to the bike rack, and walked in to the school, and went to his locker to grab his chemistry book,

ooc: Jen seems depressed. I'm not done, but I figured I'd pop in..

ic: Brendan was already in school, and waiting for Jen. He saw her in the hallway, and snuck up behind her and gave her a hug.

Chilena's Mom gently shoo'ed her Chinese daughters away from Chilena, telling them to get their homeschool materials ready. Then, turning back to her eldest child: "I'm like Alipang, dear: I can't bear to have any harm come to you, because I love you. So you _will_ follow Doctor Mom's orders."

" I'll stay in bed don't you worry," she told her, coughing harder then before " ow Mum soup?," she asked, with a frown.

"I'm guessing that's...Brendan?" she said, and turned around, her face lighting up. "Hi."

ooc: i'll be right back; just going to eat dinner.

"Well hey there pansy," said Sam as he slammed Grant's locker shut, and leaned against it. Grant backed up a few steps. "I don't want any trouble Sam," said Grant calmly. "No I was just wondering if you knew about your buddy getting beat up the other day," said Sam with a fiendish grin. "What? Who....h-how?", asked Grant with shock. "Why don't you ask him yourself, pansy", replied Sam as he pushed Grant against the lockers, and walked off.

"You guessed wrong. It's me, who's this Brendan kid? Someone I should know about?" He joked. He took her hand, and they walked to her locker.

ooc: I'll be back soon. I hope.. Procrastination is badd thing.

It can be odd, and sad, what things may sometimes unite diverse people. The total number of serious troublemakers at East High was too small to lend itself well to racially-separated groups of troublemakers; thus, they tended to form alliances with little regard for color. Leaving his harassment of Grant, Sam (who had been a witness to what happened with Alipang, but had wanted Grant to think Alipang had fought and lost) came upon his friend Carlos Reyes, and the two homed in together on Summer--whom they knew to be Alipang's friend.

"Hey, ______ !" sneered Sam. "You're lookin' better than a friend of Ali-punk deserves to!"

Carlos chimed in: "But maybe after school...today or some day soon...you _won't_ look so good, ______ !"

Summer turned slowly to face the two. "Language boys. Wouldn't want to have to clean out your mouths with soap."
