"Well it's rat infested and I don't mean the little skinny ones that runn around the streets." a girl said from a far corner
"Yah and its not exactly the most friendly place you will ever live," A young boys piped up.
"Oh but lets not foget the stocks...if they catch us...perchising anything." another girl said and once a gain a ripple of laughter swept over all of them
"Ah." She said. She had never been in a situation that she needed to steel in order to survive, but she decided if it came down to it she would figure out a way to keep up with it so she could pay them back.
"America" Christine said smiling. "We do, and we have dollars." She had some money in her pocket, it wouldnt do any good here thought. She pulled it out and showed him a 10 dollar bill as well as a quarter and two pennies.
She smiled and explained the currency and how much each coin was worth. "You think this is strange. You have no idea." She said thinking of trains and planes and cars and computers and ipods...then she reached into her back pocket where her ipod nano always was. She pulled it out and showed William how to put the headphones in and then pressed play. The music for one of her hip-hop dances that mixed hip-hop and ballet started playing.
Christine laughed. "It's ok." She assured them. "It's music, you dance to it, or just listen to it." She said. "I'm a dancer back home." She said. "I um go to school...um...it's my job to dance." She said trying to explain.
Most of the girls smiled at this remark but still kept their distance. Lars was the one to aproach her, "well perhaps if you are good...you could very much help us."
"Learn to dance?" She asked excitedly. She turned her ipod to the video mode and then to one of the four movies on it. "I can dance like this." She said pointing to the screen as she made it stop on her favorite scene from the movie Step Up, it was the finale. She showed them the characters dancing on the screen. She was prepared this time for the shock.
Christine laughed. "Yeah I guess so, but I also dance like this." She said turning it to the forth movie on her ipod, it was a video of a her ballet routine. "Actually that's me." She said pointing to the graceful figure in a beautiful flowing ballerina outfit. She never showed this to anyone it was just to help her practice. She went a slight shade of pink.
Lars watched more of this bith fastinated bu what he saw but slightly frightened as well, "That is how you could help us," he said nodding in a proval.
