I Wonder who could play the Green Witch??

The Lady of the Green Kirtle

Who would you like to see cast as the Emerald Witch?

I personally think they should get someone extremely beautiful, because when I read The Silver Chair, I always pictured the witch as a woman who is hard for men to resist.

Gemma Arterton-

I cant picture anyone other than her in the role. Most people will remember her from Prince of Persia, but she was also a Bond girl in Quantum of Solace. On top of that she is only 24. I think for this witch they should pick someone younger, instead of a Tilda Swinton.

I can't believe it. I COULD resist her...i think...:p. We need someone not just pretty but beautiful.

Yes, the Green Witch needs to be (1) NOT Tilda Swinton, and (2) young. But as for irresistible to men, that takes more than lips inflated with collagen like truck tires. Her VOICE will be important.

Go check out a movie she is in, or look on Youtube, she has a great voice. Though I got to say that your post did make me laugh, but I am still a strong advocate for Gemma.

Natalie Portman all the way. Although some of her acting in Star Wars seems a bit off, I think that is Lucas' fault. Anyway, she is GREAT in most her films. She has an adamant and determined personality. She would be convincing!

I would like to be cast to play the Lady of the Green Kirtle. :p

But because that willl never happen, I think an unknown actress would be best.

What about Milla Jovovich? I've not seen her act before, but she certainly looks the part. They would just have to make her hair longer, but thats not too big a problem.

I like everyone's ideas. I hadn't thought about Anna Paquin, Bob, but she could definitely pull it off. I'm glad we're all on the same page so far (young, brunette, slightly exotic).

Ugh. I'd be boycottin Silver Chair if Natalie was anywhere NEAR the movie.

An unknown actress who bears a slight resemblance to Tilda should be cast. I disagreed with Tilda's casting because I never had that feeling of "good grief, I think even I might get caught up under her spell" because of the fact that Tilda, no offense to her, is just not pretty.

And Anna Paquin...don't even get me started. I can't stand her.

None of the women mention so far should be in Narnia, they are not cool, not matter how pretty some may think they are. Those actresses are well past their time. They had their chance.

And say, what's wrong with having a blond actress? I would prefer blond so there (oh and please do not include the usual suspects, ugh)

I dont see how Gemma at age 24 and only having been in a couple big movies is "past her prime." If anything, she is just starting to get into the swing of things.

As for a blonde actress, that would be fine, but I think most people want to see a brunette play the Lady of the Green Kirtle.

I, for one, have always imagined The Lady of the Green Kirtle to be a woman with a thin, rather whimsical face, and long wavy blond hair. She was enchantingly beautiful not only because of her looks, but the very sound of her voice and her every motion.

I would hate for them to just cast some knock-out just because she's beautiful. She has to posses an essence of... oh, I don't know how to describe it. But I don't think some girl with lots of make-up and poofy lips is going to make the cut. You need more than just appearance to make the actress achieve this part.

We can only speculate and offer our opinions. In the end it will probably be someone not well known. Although, between her and Jill, a slightly-fairly well-known actress wouldn't hurt, and could help draw more people to the film.
