There is already a thread for this. You should do a search before starting new threads. It took me 30 seconds to find it HERE.

I am really getting mad! I just did a search and mine is the only one there! If you guys keep complaining about this on every post... Then I am just going to ignore it! I mean SingingDryad~ said that someone finally made an inkheart post! Come on! I was the only one!

No, clearly you're not the only one with an Inkheart thread.

But if indeed you didn't see it, we can't blame you. I've done the same thing more than once.

I edited my post to show you that I found it. Yours is not the only thread. You can ignore it all you want. When the mods see it they'll merge it anyway. We are just trying to help you so that you can make threads that actually add something new to the forum and will not be merged with anything else.

HAHAHAH! Is this all you are getting on me for! This thread and the other are completely different, that thread is a poll, this one is for discussing the Ink world... I'm sorry I'm getting upset and I'll try to "add something new" to the TDL next time!

They only seem different to you, but they are both about the same world: the world on inkheart. This is what was happening with the Harry Potter threads, star trek, star wars, eragon, etc. so that's why the mods decided to make ONE thread for ALL discussions of that specif wold. Otherwise, there would be many threads about other things, which is not cool seeing as this is a Narnia forum. Heck! I could start an Inkheart thread to discuss ONLY the covers. It would still be about Inkheart and could be combined into the original thread.

Looks like you've been caught in a hole! Just look at all the threads you started that AREN'T narnia related! What is really making me mad is that you aren't discussing the ink series (heck, you probably haven't even read them) and you came just to complain! I welcome all people to my posts IF they are going to talk about the topic!

I guess I didn't explain myself clearly. It is not general threads of other things, it's MULTIPLE threads about one book, TV, or movie series. Inkheart is a book series, so multiple threads about it are not encouraged.

I have started a bunch of threads about non-Narnia related subjects, but each one on something new. I do not start multiple threads about one subject.

One of my favorite tv series is Doctor Who, which has TONS of things to discuss that we do discuss in the Doctor Who thread. If I were to start a different thread for different aspects of Doctor Who, it would clutter the forum and will be annoying. Besides, I might get stern look from the Badger, and believe me, you don't want a stern look from him. The only worse thing than a stern look from the Badger is a stern look from his mum. Either one will make you quake in your boots!! (I'll rather have his mum's cookies instead ;) )

So, anyway, I'm just trying to help you understand TDL etiquette here, seeing as you are new and all and have not had your first run in with the aforementioned badger.

Oh, and I would discuss Inkheart in the original thread instead since this one will be merged anyway. I encouraged you to do the same.

I'm not an inkheart fan (in fact I have no idea what they're about), but...seriously dude, cool it. BK is right when he says that multiple threads aren't the way to go. Regardless of whether the "other" thread was a poll, it has this title: Inkheart Trilogy.

ahyperdude, I will say this: nobody likes somebody who argues with a person who is trying to help a new member. BK gave you advice that he would give to any other new member starting an extra thread. If ~SingingDryad~ said she hadn't seen an Inkheart thread before, then she didn't see it; it doesn't mean one didn't exist. I believe the original Inkheart thread was started in 2004, a great deal before you started yours. If a more experienced member says *politely*, "Hey, there's already a thread for this", please don't argue with them or complain. The members who have been here for a year or more have the right to tell you that there is already another thread like it.

Regardless of whether or not BK likes inkheart, he has a right (as a more experienced member) to make you aware that there is another thread like the one you created. I would encourage you, before you start any more threads, to carefully search through the forums. Sometimes you have to tweak your searches (i.e. keywords), and sometimes you have to search more than once. The general search doesn't ever work for me, so I have to search the individual forums for the topic I'm looking for. If in doubt, contact a moderator OR another member. I would also suggest that you read the FAQ located at the top of the forum. Again, nobody likes someone who argues with another member who is only trying to help you out.

I'm not a mod, but maybe this thread should get back on topic and you just accept the fact that there was already another thread in existence.

ok ok ok... I'm sorry! But if someone comes in telling me that there is already a thread for that subject, then what should I do?! Please instead of bothering me about it tell someone who CAN merge it! I will try to do better when I start a post!

All right. :) Please keep in mind that we're not telling you in order to be annoying. We're just letting you know. That way, you can seek out a mod's help on your own, and we won't be interfering as much.

Most people tell you there's another thread so that YOU can take care of it yourself. While it's a responsibility of other members to let the moderators know about multiple threads, it is ultimately YOUR job as the thread creator to take that upon yourself. When you say, "YOU tell somebody to merge it", then you make yourself look like a victim.

The simplest thing to do, is to click on a blue/purple name, select Private Message, and give that moderator the link to your thread. All you have to say to that mod is, "I was told that there's already a thread like this; could you please merge them?" The mods will accomodate you and they will be happy to do so. They are also appreciative when members let them know about multiple threads because it makes their job easier.

Don't cast blame on those trying to help you out, k?

Leave him alone now. The matter has already been settled. He didn't know.

Anyway, back to regularly scheduled topic!!!

I have only "seen" the book Inkspell. It has a nice purple hard cover on it. I wanted to read it but it looked too big. I sometimes get discouraged from reading stories because the books look enormous and I am not sure I'll be able to finish them. Maybe if I learn more about this series I'll start reading them.

I've never actually seen the books in stores; probably because I don't usually go into stores looking for books. ;) However big they are I don't think it would be too daunting; I've read books before that were 500-600 pages in length each (with a book series consisting of 8 books, though the last 4-5 were considerably smaller in length).

Have they made any of the books into movies?

The first book was made into a movie, but it wasn't a big success (most all the fans hated it) so they never made any more.

Also they didn't make any more because they ended it so that they Couldn't make a 2nd one. (unless they REALLY ruined the storyline.)

There are 3 books in the series around 800 pages long!
