Introduction Thread II

Hi, I'm a big narnia fan.. I'm new in this site, and I can't wait to get to know all of you ^^ nice to know you "all" ;):)

Welcome, we like new comers, we like people who come back after a long time. We think the more is the merrier, especially in Dufferland.

I registered some time ago, but I have never posted. Maybe because when I registered here, I had read only one of the Chronicles and did not have enough knowledge to contiribute anything worthwhile. Now I have read all of them, or rather listen to the audiobooks of them here. I really enjoyed the Chronicles, even though I first read them as an adult. Maybe reading and writing on this forum will be a sort of continuing and prolonging the Narnian adventure :)

First I was - and still am - Tolkien fan, and through Tolkien I was introduced to CS Lewis; I read somewhere that there were friends and this was an impulse to start reading CS Lewis's books. But the first contact I had with Narnia was through the first Disney film adaptation of the Chronicles.

English is not my native language, so please be understanding, but do not abstain from correcting mistakes of any kind I can make. Thanks :)

You are not the first to join as an English-as-a-second-language speaker. We understand and will more than willingly help you improve your English speaking skills. Tolkien is not my thing simply because as a dyslexic, the details get me bogged down. I had trouble making it through the Hobbit. Sherlock Holmes, on the other hand (assuming that he is who your username is referring to), is something that I am, very much so, able to discuss in length.

Welcome both of you.

Hi :D

Hi everybody,
My name is cecilia and I am 17 years old. I've seen al the movie's of Narnia and I started with reading the books of Narnia. I love rthe movie's! My English is not very good, but I try.

Cheers all! My name's Brian and I just started reading the books for the umpteenth time. It's amazing all the details I've forgotten. I tend to lurk more than I interact but I'll speak up now and then. Quite honestly, I've joined to plug a project of mine but I'm also interested in opening my mind to how others see Narnia. I'll try not to be spammy. :)

Hello, welcome to tdl, Brian! :D

Hello, I'm Annemarie, Welcome to TDL!!! Excited to see your posts!

Welcome Cecilia, as I said above, you are not the first to come who speaks English as a second (or third or fourth) language. We welcome all, and you will find that even those of us who have spoken English all our lives have a poor grasp of communicating in English in typed form.

Welcome Brian. Glad to have you on board. Promoting projects and being a spam bot are two totally different things. If it is of a written nature, the Professor's Writing Club is a great place to promote.

It's not writing at all but artwork, I suppose. LEGO artwork. :) But I can't seem to create a new thread in the Brush of Unicorn Forum. Is that one of those "must make ten replies before new threads are allowed"?

The spammy bit would be that I'm looking for some votes to elevate my project to consideration status.

Brian

Hey i'm new here and i don't know how to have avatar... please help me!

You have to get ten posts before you may have an avatar or signature. Posts in The Land of Duffers sub-forum and the Introduction Thread do not count.

Just a note, when you do get a signature, you may wish to put your name (Cecilia) in your signature. There is another person with a name very close to yours (Queen Lucy the Valient) and we wouldn't to get the two of you mixed up. Congratulations on your proper spelling, by the way. :D

Welcome Queen Lu,
Looking forward to your reaction to the Chronicles as you read them :) Have fun posting and then creating your own avvy and signature when you rack up enough posts.
By the way Sopespian has a valid point; it will be good to distinguish you somehow.

Bdag,
Your screenname is so interesting. Is there a special story behind it?

Benisse: a very complex formula involving the first letter of my first name and first syllable of my last name. :) I've used it for ages.

ESA Warrior: What sort of cause? Your post gave me a feeling of something between Reepicheep and Glenstorm. Yes, what can we fight or stand for?

Brian
