Agreed. U2 is fine and all, but I prefer more traditional Irish music.
However, some of the newer Irish punk bands (Dropkick Murphy's , Flogging Molly) are actually quite good, even if they aren't from Ireland necessarily.

I like U2 a lot but not as an irish group... I don't think about them as being Irish. Maybe earlier on in their carrier but defiantly not now (they've all lost their accents *pout*)
I only recently discovered The high Kings and I'm like crazy about them. (not so much as I am with Celtic Thunder but still...)
