Another Poem

You are the one who always knows when I’m upset,

Just by what I say-or don’t say-

You have a way of making me smile,

And then again my heart is hurting.

You always ask “what’s wrong?”,

Until I end up telling you.

You always some how make me smile,

Even when I don’t want to.

But right now “what’s wrong?”

Is you.

What use to make me smile,

Now makes me cry.

What use to make me laugh,

Now makes me SCREAM!

What use to make me dream,

Now gives me nightmares.

What us to make me warm inside,

Now has turn me COLD.

What use to make my heart skip a beat,

Now makes it (pound).

I just want it to go away,

This feeling deep inside.

One side of my heart-

The side that’s cracked and hurt- says:

“Forget and move on.”

The other side-

The side that loves no matter what argues:

“Forgive and remember.”

Right now I’m in between them,

Not sure of which I want to do more.

Another Joe and Kandie excerpt....

ANother Joe/Kandie Piece.... It's called "Fire Light"

I picked up a few pieces of wood and started to carry them down to the fire pit.
“Let me carry those, Kandie. You can carry the matches.” Joe came up beside of me, reached for the wood, and placed the box of matches, and some rolled up newspapers in my hand. “It’s a great day for a chicken stew.” He remarked as we walked towards the fire pit that was in the lower horse pasture. “It’s getting cold.” He looked up at the darkening sky.
“Yes, it is.” I nodded in agreement. I looked ahead of us at Robert and Jane both were carrying the plates, forks and cups –all plastic of course- towards the table set up on one side of the fire. “I could’ve carried the wood, I’m not that weak.” I told him, as I felt useless only carrying the match box.
Joe chuckled. “The wood weighs more than you do.” He teased me. “And it can hurt you.” He set the wood down by the pit and straightened back up.
“It does not.” I crinkled my nose at him. “And I’ll be fine carrying wood.” I hated the teasing sparkle in the young mans’ eyes as he looked down at me. “I’m not helpless, Joe.” I turned around and headed back towards the wood pile.
“Nice going, Joe, it’s a great night to upset her.” Jane spoke to her brother.
“Shut up, Jane.” Joe snapped before following me. His legs were longer than mine, and I wasn’t walking very fast, so it didn’t take him long to catch up to me. “Kandie.” He grabbed onto my arm to make me stop walking. “Don’t be mad at me, please, I was just kidding with you.” He said. “I thought you knew that.”
“I did, Joe, but sometimes I get tired of feeling useless, and helpless.” I explained. “I can take care of myself.” I looked up at him. “I’m not that weak.”
“I-I know that, Kandie.” Joe let his hand fall to his side. “I…” he ran his fingers through his short cropped hair. “I didn’t mean to make you feel like that. You are a big help to everyone, especially to me.” He whispered the last few words.
“It’s OK. I know you didn’t mean to.” I forgave him. “I’m sorry too, for over reacting and getting upset when I shouldn’t have.” I wanted to reach out and touch him but I didn’t.
“I understand, it’s OK.” Joe shook his head as to say ‘don’t apologize’.
“Kandie!”
We both looked up the hill at the sound of my name, Sarah, my twin sister, stood by my parents car that was now parked in the Guyers’ driveway. She was looking at me with an exciting smile on her face.
“It’s probably about Riley.” I remarked.
“Go on and talk to her, I’ll get the rest of the wood.” Joe told me.
“Ugh! You win.” I scoffed. I lay one hand on his arm, stood on my tiptoes, and kissed his cheek. “Thank you for caring about, and protecting me.” I smiled at him.
“You’re welcome.” He returned my smile before I headed towards where my sister was, and he walked to the wood pile.....

A Poem

A poem I wrote today (October 9,2009)

Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things to do.

Saying goodbye to a close friend is painful.

It hurts even more

When that “close” friend,

Is only that in your eyes,

No one else's.

Everyone else wants you

To be a “no” friend.

“Don’t bother him” they say,

Yet they can talk to him.

They can be his friends,

It hurts when i read the words

“He is dying.”

It hurts more than they want it to.

Is it a crime to care so much

About someone that no one wants

You to be friends with?

Apparently so.

Then I guess this is…..

GOODBYE.

I really like the Joe/Kandie one. It's something I would do. It's so annoying when guys think us girls can't do anything. Ugh. Anyway. It was really well written.

And the poem was really heartwrenching. Praying and remember if you need to talk there are tons of people, including me, who would be more than willing to listen.

Poem for Him

Here is another poem.....

Dots, (CHASE)
I try to picture you…

But it is blurred

Not only because of my tears

But also because I have never seen you

Except for in pictures.

You always know when something is bothering me,

Even when I try to hide it,

And I say I hate that you do

But it’s a lie.

Now I wish you would ask me again

Just so I could talk to you,

And know that you’re at least OK.

I can’t picture you

Weak, and tired

Lying in a hospital bed

Surrounded by monitors

………..Dying.

Another "dream"

OK so last night I had another "dream" that I would maybe put into a "story" though I have so many I doubt I'll finish it. So I want my readers opinion on if I should write it or not.....

(Of course this won't be EXACTLY how I dreamt it since dreams are often weird and...IDK)

So there's this girl, whose name is _______,(Suggestions are helpful and wanted :D) and her father is abbusive. (I know it's somewhat like "Merewen" but it's totally different I think). The only "refuge" she has, whenever her father is 'not exactly nice', is her best friend, Shane, who happens to live a few blocks away. She sneaks into Shane's house through his bedroom window because his parents don't like her, (she's been doing this since she was around 8) for reasons I have yet to come up with...one night she comes with a bruise on her jaw and barely able to stand, Shane ,ofcourse, "nurses" her wounds and lets her stay the night, like she does often.......that's as far as I got.........

What do you think???????

DestinyLies

I like the concept but I would suggest that instead of her sneaking into his room that they sneak out to the woods or something. Maybe they Shane built a hut or treehouse in the woods and that's where they hang at night. Just a thought. And as to her name. Hmmmm.....Maybe Cassie. Or Khara.

Hmmmmmm IDK......maybe....a unique name but that sounds cool...like for a guy i would use North or Trace or something but I have the guys name..

Hmmmm no...those are good though.

Addison, Aelwen,Blair,Adela,Cala,Edrea (Adrea,Adram, Edira..), Eirwen,Isadora,Scarlett, Sakura, Sagara,Dahlia,Kylee...I'm getting more.

I slammed and locked my bedroom door behind me, rushing to the window I opened it and slid out onto the ground. Picking myself up I started running. I could hear him pounding on my door, screaming my name and telling me to open the door. I felt the tears start to slide down my face as I ran. Where was I running? The only place I knew where to run: Shane's. My best friend lived only a few blocks away and I knew he would help me. Running as fast as my little legs would carry me. I glanced back behind me to make sure he wasn't following me. He wasn't. I made it to Shane's house half an hour later. I looked up at the second story window where Shane's bedroom was at, then at the tree that grew next to the house. Sighing I started to climb the tree, it wasn't easy but I made it up to the window. "Shane." I whispered his name as I tapped on the window. "Shane." I called a little louder. I would've gone to the front door but his parents were probably asleep, and they didn't like me anyway. The blinds rose up and Shane opened the window.
"Kylee."(temporary name) Shane whispered. "What are you doing?" He then saw my tears. "What's wrong?" He reached towards me. "Get in here." He helped me through the window.
"Daddy-"I managed to say before more tears stung my eyes.
"Is he OK?" Shane sat down next to me on the floor.
I shook my head. "He's drunk, and he hit me." I burried my face in my hands and sobbed. Shane slipped his arm around my shoulder.....that was eight years ago.

Kylee (Salem) closed her worn out journal, the faded red binding was coming loose and the lock half the time didn't lock. She sat against a tree in the woods, waiting for Shane. She had, once again, run away from her father and instead of going to Shane's house had texted him and told him to meet her in the woods. He knew the place, they met at this same tree often.
Kylee looked up at the sound of leave's russling, and a twig snapping. "Shane?" She called.
"It's me, Ky, don't worry." Shane stepped into her view, his light brown hair was tossled from the wind. "Are you ok?" He sat down next to her.
"For right now." Kylee nodded. "Thanks for coming." She looked up at him, his electric blue eyes that stared back down at her held so much care in them it hurt to look for very long.
"Why would you think I wouldn't?" Shane asked, a confused and somewhat hurt look passed across his face.
"I-I know you're busy, and don't need to stop whatever you're doing to come out here." Kylee looked away from his gaze. "Especially when it's forty degrees." She added fingering the lock on her journal.
"You're my best friend, Kylee, nothing is as important to me than your safety." Shane told her."And since it is forty degrees you should have a coat on." He scolded her for her bare arms.
"I didn't have time." Kylee remarked, she was starting to shiver.
"Here." Shane slid his coat off and covered her with it.
"No, Shane, you need your coat." She started to protest.
"I'm warm enough." Shane insisted. "We'll go back to my house when I start to get cold." He promised holding the coat against her as she tried to hand it back to him again.
Kylee gave in and slid her arms through the sleeves of the coat, it was warm from Shane's body heat. "Thanks." She looked up at him. "For everything." She added. "Not just right now."
"No need to thank me, Kylee." Shane reached up and pushed back her hair. "I do what I can." He pushed back the desire to kiss her. "Which is no where near what I want to do." He lowered his hand from her face. "Come on, let's go home." He stood and reached his hands down to help her up............

What do you think so far????

Once she stood they started walking towards Shane’s house. Shane wrapped his fingers around hers. “You’re hands are shaking.” He noticed the tremble in her hand.
“I’m still a little cold.” Kylee said. It was only the half-truth though, her hands were cold but she was also nervous. Shane had held her hand many times before why it made her nervous now she wasn’t sure of. She wasn’t going to admit it to him but she had been in love with him since fourth grade, the first night she had gone to his house. Shane was always the one to defend, and comfort her. He was always the one she went to when she needed someone to talk to, he had never let her down.
When they reached Shane’s house his parents were in the living room. They didn’t hate Kylee as much as they use to, every since Shane had told them about her father a few years earlier, so she wasn’t as scared to come in through the front door. Though she still went in through his window late at night. After saying hello to Shane’s parents they went up to his bedroom.
“They’re up late.” Shane commented as he closed his bedroom door. He released her hand hesitantly. “But they usually are on Fridays.” He added as he sat down on his swivel desk chair. Kylee sat down in the plush chair that sat close to his desk. “He didn’t hit you, did he?” Shane asked seeing Kylee rubbing her arm.
“No.” Kylee shook her head. “It’s just sore from gym class.” She massaged her fingers into her arm. That look of I-care-so-much-about-you was on Shane’s face again. And it made her blush to look at him.
Shane leaned towards her, resting his elbows on his knees. “Ky, you’re not lying to me are you?” He asked watching her rub her arm.
“Of course not!” Kylee exclaimed. “I’ve never lied to you, Shane.” She didn’t like the hurt feeling she had having him think she was lying.
“All right.” Shane sat back in his chair. “I’m sorry, I know you’d never lie to me, I’m just worried.” He apologized running his fingers through his hair. “I don’t want him to hurt you.” It wasn’t unusual that he referred to her father as ‘him’. They always did.
Kylee’s feelings twisted at his words, she looked down at her knees as tears stung her eyes, and bit her bottom lip.
“What’s wrong?” Shane again sat forward and tried to look at her eyes. “What did I do?” He slipped to the floor and crawled over to his friend. “Don’t cry.” He wiped away her tears as his heart began to crack, he made her cry, he could kick himself for that. “Please.” He pleaded.
“Stop!” Kylee cried out, before covering her mouth with both hands. She was able to control her tears after a minute or two. “I’m sorry, Shane.” She still hadn’t looked at him.
“Will you tell me what I did?” Shane’s voice was low.
“You didn’t do anything wrong.” Kylee twisted her fingers nervously around each other.
“I had to have done something to make you cry like that.” Shane insisted. He lifted her chin, forcing her face upward to look at him. “What is it? What’s wrong?” The pained look in his eyes hurt.
“I…” She paused as another wave of tears threatened to come. “I don’t understand why you’re so nice to me.” Her lips were quivering, and a single tear slipped down her cheek.
“I don’t like seeing you hurt, in any way. No one should have to go through what you go through, Kylee.” Shane explained.
“A lot of people go through worse.” Kylee pointed out.
“Kylee, you’re my best friend, and I love you. It hurts me when something hurts you.” Shane stopped there afraid he would say too much........

I really love the way you've started out. It has a lot of good stuff in it. What I might do is instead of starting with these two bits you've written is start with when they're younger then do a bit that isn't as intimate. If that makes sense. Make Shane maybe gradually get closer to her. Instead of starting out with it. Just a thought though. And I kind of like the name Kylee.

Thanks. That's what I was going to do, that's why I started it like I did, at first it wasn't a journal entry. I will think about it. :D Thanks for the thought. I am changing Shane's name to Trace (only when I post it it's still "legally" Shane). Glad you like the start.
