Not quite as good as 'furlong.' That calls up images of...oh...I don't know...Medieval battles and hunting parties and castles. Leagues are nice two, although they are forever linked to "Twenty Thousand" and "Under the Sea," but eh...what can you do? The worst are things like "gram" and "kilogram." They sound so horribly technical!

I come from a family of literary snobs--almost all of us are anyway. Um, my family has had most of her books in our house ever since I can remember. I think they may have even been books from one of my parents collEge days or something. How'd you hear about the books?
