Mod Q&A Thread II

That... or cookies, maybe. :D

Seriously, though: gross infraction of forum rules is likely to get around to them real fast. For instance, posting a porn thread...

I was wondering, with a 3seconds between posts rule,
and a 60seconds between PMs rule,
is there a (no.) seconds between bans rule?

Mod-powersss... they're almost like superman! (only instead of a cape and red booths they usually were geek glasses and have a somewhat weird obsession with computers) :p

I have a question: is there a limit to the number of mods that can exist on one forum. Because i've seen some old-mods getting 'un-mod-ed' and i was wondering why?

LOL, I don't know about the geek glasses, but close enough. *Hugtackles lieke*...Sorry, hadn't seen ya in a bit and missed ya!

I don't know of any limit at all on the number one can have. People will retire when they don't have time to be on. It's not just a title, but rather a job. There's a ton of work and responsibility that goes with it and it's hard at times. So, some will retire from time to time and others will be brought in when there's a need for more help in specific areas. Specter would have to correct me if there's a limit to the number of mods we can have, but I've never heard of a limit.

*hugs* :) It's been a while yeah.

Hm, i get it. I do understand it's more than just the coolness of having a blue name and a user title, but also the responsibility of keeping the forum clean, and the members happy and nice (and we can be trouble:p). But i was wondering. Since there are some mods who haven't been here in ages (or haven't been here most of the time), and there are some who have been un-mod-ed a while ago (like GrayCloak and Jenny), and i was wondering if they asked for it, or if Specter just needed some mod-space or something...

or if there are other evil plans i don't know about...

:D

But i was just curious, it isn't really important, i think i'll live without the answer:p

I don't think we've ever had a mod who's been asked to leave, but mods also have life developments like everyone else. They develop other interests, life gets complex and crowds out time for online participation, they change schools or jobs - lots of things. My brother, Parthian King, makes no secret of the fact that his new job will well and truly "retire" him. He's been stepping back for some time, but this new position could very well mean that he won't be around at all. There's always a bit of "churn" amongst mods. (and no, that isn't a reference to what's going on at the back of the fridge in the mod lounge.)
