Mod Q&A Thread II

Your name will continue to show up for 15-20 minutes after you've last been on. That's one reason why the "who's online" list isn't always accurate - sometimes the people shown there have been offline for a while.

That's why it's best to check and see when the member did something last. Usually it will say something like "Last Action: Viewing Thread at 3:15"

If it's 3:30, I think it's safe to say the person is no longer online anymore.;)

Is that so? Some dark Modly secret? Maybe the 'nites are brainwashing the mods! OH, NO!!
(By the way, you should use color=d6f4ce instead of d6f7ce. It works better.

:p

Sometimes when a lot of people are on it says "the server is too busy", but the front page claims that there was once 791 people online! Why is that?

I'll have to ask Specter, ES, or POTW that one I think. The "server is busy" thing has been popping up a lot more of late. I think back when that many were on at once it was earlier in the forum's history. With all the posts from all these years, I'm sure it makes it more difficult. That's just my guess though. We'll have to look into it.

I know long threads mess things up. The old So...Who's On Now had 58,000 posts and messed the forum up a lot. I'd guess as much as people love it, the 100000 post thread will bring a lot more of the "server is busy" and the "internet explorer can't display web page" in the future.

My thought for the 100,000 post thread was that it should be archived, like an ordinary thread, but the old posts still count for the "goal." Isn't that doable?

I suppose it could be. It kind of takes away from the victory, though...:D

(If it begins to pose a problem, then we'll probably do that, but we won't need to anytime soon.)

O, I have a question!
What do you think about the war against the people that spell everything wrong and the must-spell-right people?

I know I'm a mod but I'm asking a question anyway. What happened to the Little Britatin thread!?! I've looked for it everywhere and I can't find it! I f someone's lost it I'm gonig to be very angry and you will have me to answer to

WHB - I've been looking and looking. So far, this is all I've found http://web.archive.org/web/20050403165016/www.narniafans.com/forum/
(Down at the bottom, in the Land of Duffers: you'll see it was the thread on top when the main page was archived. It was not archived, unfortunately. :()

I'm still looking, though. Maybe something'll pop up.

Edit: I found one archived page of it. http://www.gigablast.com/scroll.htm...+"little+Britain"&c=main&rtq=0&d=158750603730

It's gone. I don't know how it happened, but it's just not there. I'm sorry.

Actually, the very same thing happened to me... I lost a thread called "The Isengarders" (Or actually I think it might just be "Isengarders".) It was one of the RPG threads (Pirates, Knights, Rangers etc.) moved from the Duffers to the Dawn Treader and it was there for a long time but just disappeared... I had pages from it bookmarked in my internet browser and those didn't work either... So I assume somehow it got deleted or something, even though I thought it would have been put in the Cair Paravel library, but oh well...

Oh yes, by the way, would it be possible for a mod to put the Knight's of Narnia thread in the Cair Paravel library? I would appreciate it very much if you could... It's not a very active thread anymore, but I think everyone involved in the RPG mentioned in the first paragraph would like it if it didn't disappear... And it the thread with the most posts in the Dawn Treader... So I would be very grateful if someone could do that please... Thanks! :D Link to the thread HERE

Johnny, where was that thread again to start with? Was it in the International forum or in the Lamppost?

I wish I could help ya bro. I don't know why it would be archived or deleted. That makes no sense since it wasn't over 1000 posts...or was it?

Feel free to start a new one bro! *Hugs*

Well, it was originally created in the Lamp Post, but then got moved to the Duffers cos it was too unruly!! But then I'm not sure what happened to it in my absence and haven't been able to find it since.

Wow Derny!?!? How did you find that old school one with the retro blue background. That brought a huge wave of nostalgia!! As did all those pages. Now I have an even greater desire to find the thread :( I'm planning on starting a new one but we'll lose all the classic comments made by the old brits like pratterson and rosymole and johan and rogue and sam48 and....... oh i'm going to go cry now....
