Mod Q&A Thread II

As I sat there, reading that post, I was at a loss as to how to respond to it. Such a perfectly self-contained post, requiring no reply, completely autonomous in every way. And as I sat there and pondered, suddenly I knew... I knew what to do!

I rejoice in the fulsomeness of thy compliments, and I presume to reply to thee in like terminology, naming thee wonderful, beautiful, the Lady of Freckles whose Freckles are the glory of the known world, reaching e'en to farthest shores under strange skies, where savages do sit upon the sand, aye, even there doth thy glory and majesty reach. And thy beauty doth bedazzle the eye of anyone who looketh upon thee, e'en the filter of a computer screen cannot completely destroy the bedazzlement of such beauty (though 'twere better, far, to see the in reality), and mine heart is full to overflowing. Therefore I call down blessings upon thee, that thy life may be long and fruitful, and that thy majesty may never diminish.

actually, i have a question.
when a member is quoted, and then changes his or her name, will the quote from before show the new or the old username?

Since it's typed in and part of the text of the message, I believe the old name sticks. I know it used to—I haven't seen that happen recently (that is, since the upgrade), so I could be mistaken on that count. (I know there's a post somewhere that has ES quoted as Chakal! :D)

Oh all knowing mods (that's what I'm assuming, that's why I'm here) I have a bit of a problem. On my notifications it constantly says that I have two unread profile visitor messages. (It used to say 1 but it starting saying 2 after I tried to fix it.) Is there any way to fix this? I have tried reloading the page when I know a message is coming in (several different ways.) And I have tried logging out, and probably something else. Do any of you have any ideas?
 
Do you have any deleted messages? If so, try giving me the link to the pages which contain them, and I'll delete them permanantly. That has worked in the past. Otherwise you could just wait it out--sometimes the notification goes away on its own.
