My First Fan-Fic

Another train station. Noise. People moving about. Father was leaving. He was going to war. Emily struggled to keep her tears back as she hugged her father and wished him luck. Just before he got on the train, he turned to her.
"Emily, I know that times are tough, and it seems like there's no hope. But don't give up, Emily. Remember, there's always a light at the end of every tunnel."
"I'll remember, Dad."
"That's a good girl. Don't fret! I'll be back before you know it. Help your Mum out."
"I will."
"Alright."
That was the last time she ever saw him.

"Em? Em! Emily!" It was Peter this time.
"What?" Emily said, startled.
"You alright?"
"Yes - No! Oh, I don't know!"
Peter looked a little worried. "We've reached the river," he said.

They had indeed reached it. But as they looked out on the river, they saw that the ice was breaking up. They knew that it was only a matter of time before the whole thing broke up and melted.
"We need to cross, now!" Peter said.
"Don't beavers make dams?" Lucy asked.
"I'm not that fast, dear," Mr. Beaver replied.
They started to move down to the edge of the river when Susan said, "Wait! Can't we just think about this for a minute?"
"We don't have a minute!" Peter said.
"I was just trying to be realistic," Susan said.
"No, you're trying to be smart, as usual!" was Peter's reply.
Emily rolled her eyes and walked all the way down to the edge. Peter and Lucy were beside her, with Susan and the beavers behind. Peter put his foot out on the ice, and immediately jumped back when it cracked.
"Maye I should go first," Mr. Beaver said.
"Maybe you should," was Peter's answer.
Mr. Beaver mad his way out onto the ice, with the others following him. Emily cringed with every step, expecting the ice to break with every step that she took. She glanced at Susan, who was behind her.
"If Mother knew what we were doing - " Susan began.
"Mum's not here!" Peter said.

Suddenly, Emily screamed. "The wolves! Look! Up there!!" They all looked to the top of the still frozen waterfall only to see the wolves running across, trying to cut off their escape.
"Run!" Mr. Beaver shouted. They started to run as fast as the could on the ice, but it was very hard going. The wolves bounded down the slope after reaching the far side ahead of them, cutting them off. Other wolves had stayed on the side of the river that they had just left, preventing them from going back.

Nessa, I believe that the correct grammer would be: I have caught up, not: I have catched up. :D

Anyways, I'm glad that you liked it. I will post more soon! :D

Mr. Beaver lunged at one of the wolves in front of them, who immediately pinned him down on the ice. Maugrim, the Wolves' captin, walked towards them.
"Well, well," he snarled. "Here are the missing children. We've been worried about you; when your brother turned up and you didn't."
Peter had drawn his sword and was brandishing it at the wolf. "Worried? I doubt it." was the boy's reply.
"All my queen wants is for you to take your brother and go," Maugrim said. "If you leave us a lone, we'll leave you alone."
"Peter, maybe we should listen to him!" Susan said.
"Smart girl," said Maugrim.

"No Peter!" shouted Mr. Beaver. "Don't listen to him! Kill him, kill him now!"
"Look, just because some man in a red coat hands you a sword is doesn't make you a hero!" shouted Susan. "Just drop it!"
"No!" Emily said. "We can't let him win! He's a lier, just like the rest of his kind!" She glared at Maugrim.
Suddenly, Maugrim's eyes opened wide when he noticed her, and then narrowed in extreme hatred. "You," he growled.
Emily nearly fell over. She didn't know the wolf, how did he know her? In her suprise she grabbed Peter's shoulder to keep herself from falling.
"Em?" Peter said. "You alright?"
Emily shook her head. "I'll explain later. Now's not the time!"

"Come on," Maugrim growled. "What's it gonna be, Son of Adam? I can't wait forever, and neither can the river."
At that moment, Lucy screamed, "Peter!" They all turned and looked at the waterfall. It was making the most frightful cracking and creaking noises. It was breaking up!
"Hold onto me!" Peter shouted. Quickly, he drove his sword into the ice. Susan and Emily, who were nearest to him, held onto him, and Emily grabbed Lucy, who had been next to her. Then, there was an ear-splitting "crack!" and all of the ice came flying down from the waterfall, sending a giant wave of water over them, plunging them down, beneath the surface.
