Narnia Quotes Quiz

Drinian, at the beginning of VDT, regarding what lies east of the Lone Islands.

"There is no true vengeance on a witless brute as there might be on a man. You weary yourself in vain."

Drinian on whether or not they should go into the Island where Dreams come true.

"No men-or very few-lived in Narnia before the Telmarines took it."

Jadis, in 'The Magicians Nephew'. She is getting impatient waiting for Uncle Andrew, whom she has 'invited' to be her servant/slave, to provide her with transportation ('a flying carpet, a chariot, or a well-trained dragon').

Following on from this, give two reasons he was taking so long with this task.

Well, this is the quotes thread, and that's more like trivia, but OK!

He had to go change and get a drink--and of course the drink made him take longer because he started thinking how awesome he was and such.

"It must have been a wonderful chase."

I believe that was Peter, though it might have been Edmund.

On that vein, "What's to prevent this river being the Rush?"

It was Edmund, to Peter. Yours is Trumpkin to the Pevensies in PC in this same situation.

"...you have made clear how all this might give you the barbarian woman, but not how it helps me to the overthrowing of Narnia."

One of the Pevensies in PC when they are in their treasure chamber in the ruins of Cair Paravel--I'm going to guess Peter.

"I do wish, now that we're not thirsty, we could go on feeling as not-hungry as we did when we were thirsty."

Yes, it was Peter.

Yours is Lucy at the beginning of Prince Caspian on the island.

"Leave me at once, dear Beasts. I would not for all Narnia bring any of you into danger."

It's Tirian when he's tied up in LB and the little creatures have brought him his supper.

I'm going to try to write a quote from memory, so I can't guarantee it's exactly right, but it should be close!
"In those days Mr Sherlock Holmes was still living in Baker Street, and the Bastables were still looking for treasure in Lewisham Road."

That was the narrator in the beginning of MN setting the scene.

"Let the skies fall! Let the earth gripe! Let blood and fire obliterate the world!"

This was a tough one, but I worked it out in the end. It's Rabadash to Aslan at the end of HHB, just before he turns into a donkey.

Try this one:
"Oh it's all very well for you."
