While Godfrey, Thorn and Isebella continued to travel eastward. Back in Narnia Sir Balin was leading a group of knights to aprahend bands of dangerious beasts. See what was happening was a small band of Minotaurs, dwarfs, ogres, hags and other beasts had been attacking convoys entering and leaving the Narnian border. In order to stop these ambushs, Sir Balin and his fellow knights where ordered to stop thses beasts at all costs. In order to draw out these beasts, Balin devised a plan. He gathered a group of Narnian soldiers (Of all races) to diquise themselves as a convoy leaving Narnia. He would then attack in surpise with the other knights. It took about four days on horse back to reach the Narnian border. All the gaurd posts where torn down and there was no sign of anyone nearby. As Balin and the other knights searched the area, the found dented shields, rusted swords and armor alying about the earth. Balin ordered the knights to move into position, while the fake convoy prepared to travel down the road. Balin and the other knights would wait a while before they mvoed up a hidden trail. That would lead them right to the convoy and the ambushers. As the convoy procceded down the slopy trail, the carriage rattled and the horses nayed. The noise of the convoy echoed through the wood, and inside the wood dark figure rushed towards the sound. the dark figures leapt and ran at a quick pace towards the main trail, where in day light you could see they where minotaurs, dwarfs, ogres, satrys and other beasts. As the convoy moved, arrows came raining on the carriage and several beasts and men where struck. Thus the ambush had begun and the minotaurs charged the foot-soldiers with there battle-axes in hand. The loud clinging of blades echoed throughout the wood and trail paths. That was Balin and the other knights sign, and at once they road off towards the hidden trail. As Balin and his knights reached the convoy, there was dozens of creatures engaged in battle and arrows where falling by the hundreds fro mthe woodland. Balin ordered the best archers to take out the tree-line, while he and several other of the strongest knights attacked there ranks. One by one, knights road off to the tright flank and the left flank . Balin and his band of knights raod straight into the hordes of minotaurs, satyrs, ogres and other beasts. balin weilding his long sword, sllcied threw several hordes of creatures. But during one of his horse-mounted attacks, he was thrown off the horse and his sword was knockedo ut of his grasp. Balin arouse and hit the nearest ogre in the head with his grantlet. He then grabbing hold of the two scrimitars on his back, and unsheathed them. as he swung the two blades in a fantastic desplay of skill, several archers began firing there arrows at him and one struck Balin in the knee. Bt instead of stopping and pulling it out, he went on cutting threw hordes of beasts. And before another arrow could be shot at Balin, several arrows struck the dwarfs. The kngiht archers had finally reached the tree-line and taken out the remaining dwarf archers. After Balin and the rest of knights wiped out the remaning forces, they helped the rest of the soldiers. The battle had been won and now Balin, the knights and the convoy rested and talked a while. They would later would head back to Cair Paraval and report there victory.
