Susan followed the outline of Higan down the steep stairs inside of the tree. There was a cool breeze blowing from the door, until it shut suddenly behind them. there was a small light up ahead that gave illumination to their descent. At the bottom of the stairs, Susan found herself in a small room, Higan was walking about lighting candles that were mounted on the walls. The room was not fully lit, but enough for the two to see each other. Higan approached Susan "please, take a seat my lady" she said calmly, motioning to the chair at the table. Susan took a deep breath, and sat down, as Higan went to the bookshelf and pulled the largest book from it and carried it over to the table. With a loud *thump* the book hit the table, and dust full into Susans face and she let out a sneeze. "I'm sorry, my lady! No one has been down to the cavern since the beginning age of Narnia." She said with a tone of saddness in her voice.
"How come?" Susan asked. "I am the only one that knows about this place now. It was my fathers, during his term as high leader of the village when it first started." She said, flipping through the pages of the book, dusting some of here and there.
"Wait, how could that be? I thought this village was thousands of years old?" Numbers were flying through Susans head as she tried to comprehend the idea.
"My father lived for many more years than others, before he died. He possed a medallion that gave him his long life, and to this day that medallion is what has kept our village from all others eyes. AH, here we go." She said as she turned another page in the book. A bright red light sprung from the pages of the book, and Susan backed away and shielded her face for the light was too bright. "Look, my lady." Higan summounded.
Slowly, Susan turned to the face the red light from the book. The light was coming from a red stone in the book, Susan realzied it was the medallion Higan had just spoken of. It emerged from the book and floated, as by magic, towards Susan, who looked on in awe.
"Take it in your hands, my lady. IT shall not harm you." Higan commanded.
Susan reached out her hands slowly, fearful of the power of the stone, and as she touched the stone, saw various moments as if they were being played in Higans memory.
