New Narnia

It took nearly two days to get to the castle, which didn't suprise anyone. They were a large group and now going with so many creatures, more joining as they traveled, it took longer than expected. Also the rests took a lot longer than expected. When they finally arrived, most had to stop and gawk at their new hiding place.
It took nearly another day entirely to get everyone settled into rooms, and to sort out who did what. Everyone had duties, and it seemed to work like clockwork after everything was sorted out.
They had sent out scouts the first day to look around. They found several key areas nearby.
Feeding several hundred people became a hard task, but they managed. Some went out to the blueberry feilds and picked blueberries, while other's hunted.

Chloe was tired as she returned to her bedroom, after nearly a day and a half of running here and there, sorting everything out. The sun was just rising yet, but she was too tired to do anymore errands, and one of the Archenlanders took over. She layed down on the bed, thinking she would fall asleep almost immediatly, but she found herself unable.
Groaning after several minutes she got back up and went out of the room, returning to the Archenlander man who had taken over for her. He was gone and no one could help her remember what she had needed to do. Giving up, she walked out to the stables. She decided that a ride would help her, and she could scout the area. Saddling a talking horse, she rode out in the light of the setting sun.
Chloe couldn't help but think about all that had happened recently. A couple more people had arrived today, telling of the death of a commander by Mizar. No one knew who he was, but Chloe feared that it had been Godfrey. Understanding her, the horse took off at a faster speed. She concentrated on riding, though thoughts of her friends still passed though her head. She hadn't seen Jadie, Lucy, or Edmund, though they were around, in a while. Tears filled her eyes as she could no longer block out the fact that it was a possibility that King Peter, and Queen Susan were dead.
"Stop, please," Chloe instructed the horse who immediatly complied. She slid off. "Return to the castle as you wish, or you may stay."
"I will stay and graze in these feilds," the horse replied eyeing her curiously.
"Very well," Chloe said patting him. She walked along the path, for a short distance, allowing her thoughts to concentrate on all that had happened in the last week since their arrival here.
She walked a good distance before realizing she had run out of water. She sighed, continuing on, looking for a spring. She found a large pond being fed by a spring and headed for it.
Siping on the water, and filling her waterskin, Chloe stood watching the sun as it slowly ascended into the sky. She had been gone a while, but she didn't contemplate it at all as she just stood there.

The Return of the Knight

Out of the sun light a figure appeared before Chloe. His face was fair, his eyes shone like blue sapphires, and his hair was golden. He steped out of the sun light and walked towards her. His armor and his face suddenly became familar. It was Godfrey! He walked over to Chloe, took her hand and kissed it. "I have returned my lady, during are time of need". "I have brought gifts from the great lion himself". "Gifts that shall turn the tide of this war, and return peace to these lands". Godfrey smiled as he took Chloe's hand and walked towards the pond. He then extended hiss hand and from the distance he raised the water into the air. Godfrey then using his other hand opened her flask and poured the water into it. He looked at Chloe and smiled as if no fear or pain could make him frown.

Chloe couldn't even manage a gasp she was so shocked by this figures appearance. Something about him was familiar, familiar yet she couldn't place her finger on how. She had to ask when he turned to smile. "Are you an angel?"

Godfrey looked at Chloe and laughed. "An angel..., no". He then took Chloe's hand and placed on his face. "It's me your friend, Godfrey". As he took her hand and storked his face, he smiled and said "I'm sure this is all comes as a surpise". Godfrey then stood silent waiting for Chloe to respond.

It took Chloe a moment to recognize Godfrey's features, and for a split second she thought she would jump on him out of happiness. But sudden concern crossed her features. Is he dead? Is that why he looks so different? And why he can move water? What sort of trickery is this? Chloe pulled back away. "What news do you bring spirit?"

Pyralis walked through the field, her bow heald loseley in her hand.

Godfrey laughed even harder. "Chloe it is me...really". Godfrey the leaned towards Chloe and took her hand. He pulled his shirt down to reveal a scar and placed her hand on it. "I was pierced by Mizar and I should be dead". "But I was given another chance by the great lion himself". "He has taught me the Deep Magic". Godfrey then turned towards some large stones and extended his hand. The stones raised into the air and stopped above the pond. Godfrey smiled as he relased the grip, and the stones hit the water, splashing. Godfrey then looked into Chloe's eyes and said "you must believe Chloe...".

Pyralis saw Godfrey and Chloe, she smiled. Godfrey was alive, she could see that.

Chloe could barely breathe as she looked into his eyes; such a vibrant blue. Could it be? Could it truly be Godfrey? She saw the scar, and felt it beneathe her hand, when he moved it there. She listened as he explained and displayed his abilities, and as he turned beseechingly to her. It is... It's Godfrey! She knew it to be true and couldn't stop herself as she jumped into his arms. "Godfrey! I feared you were dead!"

Pyralis sat down and half watched Chloe and GOdfrey, half gazed out at the Narnian land.

Godfrey smiled as he took Chloe into his arms. He twirled her around and looked deep into her eyes "Yes it is me". "I have return to you a the turn of the tide". "The final battle is at hand". "We must prepare.., where is King Peter and Queen Susan?" asked Godfrey.

At the reminding of Susan and Peter, Chloe's smile faded. "We have received no news of them..." she said quietly. She felt her heart breaking, had Aslan not taken them as well? Were they dead?
"I left immediatly after you sent me off the roof. I took the evacuees from Archenland through the escape passages, and brought them here. I have not seen, or heard from either King Peter, or Queen Susan."

Pyralis smiled, and slightly blushed feeling guilty for spying on the two. She focused her attention on the sea.

As Godfrey heard Chloe's news, he turned to face the pond. He then closed his eyes and began whispering something. Suddenly his eyes opened again and he turned towards chloe. "The King Peter and King Susan are safe, they are infact on there way here". Godfrey then walked over to Chloe and hled his hand out. "Shall we go greet them?".

Chloe watched, silently wondering what he was thinking when he closed his eyes and began to whisper, but was careful to not disturb him.
When he spoke again, Chloe gasped in suprise.
"They're safe? Thank God!" she cried. "Yes, let us go to them!" She grabbed his hand hoping he would take her to them.

Steps of Faith:

Godfrey to her arm and left the pond. They traveled slowly across the plains, and finally they reached the mountains. There coming up the steep trails was King Peter, Queen Susan, Sir Balin and many soldiers. Godfrey smiled and took Chloe into the cavern, where he lead her to the entrance. There they greeted King Peter and Queen Susan. The look on there faces as the gazed at Godfrey was simply shocking. They looked as if they had seen a ghost. Sir Balin dismounted and walked over to Godfrey. He grabbed Godfrey's hand and looked at him clsly. "Yes it is me Balin" said Godfrey with a smile. Balin then laughed and hugged Godfrey in knightly fashion. "I don't know how you do it, my fiend". "You walk into the doors of death, and come out alive". "I am so glad to see you, my friend" said Balin. Godfrey smiled and said "As I am".

Godfrey then turned to King Peter and Queen Susan. "My King, my Queen I have much to dicuss with you". King Peter dismounted and said "Can it wait tell after supper?". "Yes it can" replied Godfrey with a smile. They all then headed into the cavern. Afterwards a grand supper was prepared for everyone. Wonderful cooked meats, steaming vegtables, and sweet suger glazed pies. Everyone dug in, eating many platters worth. After all had had there filling. Godfrey told King Peter and everyone else his plans to retake Cair Paraval. At first they all frowned and looked at him with doubtful expressions. But once Godfrey demonstrated his new abilites there eyes widened and there faces lite up. Finally they listened with atuned ears. After Godfrey finished, King Peter spoke "I see a great hope and faith in are noble knight". "He beleives we can retake are land and defeat this evil sorrcor". "And in the goodness of my heart, I say yay". "We shall prepare are army and storm are own castle". "We shall face this evil lord and defeat him" said King Peter.

Everyone cheered, as King Peter arose and said "Now we prepare to retake I homes, are lands, and are freedom!". everyone arose and ready to do there part. King Peter ordered everyone to there pssts. But before Godfrey left, Knig Peter took him aside and said "i want you to be my new comander of the armies". Godfrey was stunned, "My King...this is such an honor but..". "Balin would be better suited for the job". "None sense, you are natural leader Godfrey" said King Peter. "They.., I.. will fallow you to whatever end". Godfrey kneeled and said "I accept this responsbility humbly, my King". Godfrey arose and fallowed King Peter to discuss plans for the upcoming battle.

Chloe didn't argue when Peter asked her to stay back, but internally she wanted to strangle him. She was a good warrior! She would not stay back here and watch her friends go and battle for her country!
Returning to her room, she plopped down on her bed. Eringuard had night shift tonight, and had left earlier. She hadn't seen him but momentarily today, but it was alright. He had decided to go along on the rebesiegement of Cair Paravel, leaving her behind. Had he been there, a lot of fights would have occured. It's unjust! Chloe thought to herself, her pride reigning supreme. I'm not just going to sit here and watch as my fellow countrymen are slaughtered, dying noble deaths for Narnia. I can't see how he could even ask me that! She punched a pillow to let off some steam, before collapsing into it.
Godfrey had returned, though changed, to them earlier in the day. He had come to her while she had been at a pond, and had appeared as bright, and vibrant as the sun itself. Such joy he had, and much to Chloe's suprise, it had been the first time she had seen him smiling, and happy. He had always appeared to have had turmoil, but now, since he had learned from the Great Lion himself, he was joyous, peaceful, and calm. She still had a hard time believing it to be true.
She fiddled with her necklace silently, just thinking back on all that had occured. She sighed resigning herself to that fact that she couldn't go. That she would stay here, while all her friends returned to Narnia.
A feeling washed over her, and she had to pause to understand it. It was complex and she barely could comprehend it's full meaning, but something about it told her that if she resigned to staying back, she would never see her friends again; she would never see Cair Paravel.
She shot up, never see Cair Paravel? No! She knew, now, that she was destined to return to Earth, to leave Narnia forever. She knew that it would be soon, possibly too soon for her to quite grasp it's true meaning. Oh Aslan! Please- she prayed, but stopped abruptly. Tears poured down her cheeks, as she sat, silent for all that it was worth.
Oh Aslan, I can't do this... Why? Why must I return to Earth? I love it here, I don't want to go. She was being stubborn, and knew she wasn't seeing the full picture. She hid that fact from herself, allowing her pride to return. No! I refuse! I'm not returning! A bang was heard in the hall startling her. Normally, she would have gone to investigate, but this time... she feared that if she looked, she would find Aslan himself. She buried herself in her blankets, not even taking time to change. This can't be... she cried.
It was never a thought out decision, she just decided not to fight against the feeling of dread, instead she'd use it to fuel herself forward. She would go on this trip, whether Eringuard, and King Peter liked it or not. She would see Cair Paravel one more time, and say good-bye to her friends. She wouldn't lose this last chance.
She got up and snuck through the halls. Stealing a set of armor, she returned to her room and hid it so Eringuard wouldn't find it. From then on she set about placing her plan into action, correcting glitches and such as they came about.
