I dunno, from everything I've been picking up here and there the past few months, it sounds like they've done at least a bit more with her role than what it was in the book. I mean, she's been featured in both trailers (I wasn't even expecting her to be in the main one, and I especially didn't think they'd actually include
one of her lines).
Then there's Edmund's sword glowing, which seems to me to be putting more significance to the star thing, and I read something somewhere about the
super-trailer that was shown at various conventions, and that it included a bit about something involving having to follow a "blue star" to the island and then I think something else about Lilliandil showing up in some dream sequence or something (I'm not sure about the last one).
Not saying she'll be a MAJOR character, because, of course, she wasn't in the book for that long, but I think they might have tried to do more with her than just have her show up randomly near the end with out some kind of cinematic setup.
Also, about the name:
I love it now. Wasn't so sure at first, but now I love it. Why?
1) Douglas Gresham named her, so...yeah. I'm not arguing with anything that man does because he has my utmost respect and devotion.
2) It IS very Elvish. Which I find not to be problematic b/c
Lewis and Tolkien were good friends AND DID share a lot of their ideas. In fact, that may have been partly how DG came up with it.
3) I think it evokes the mysterious, ethereal atmosphere of a star. Especially if you say it out loud, it sounds very...star-like.
So, yeah, that's my shpiel for today.
