Okay I'm here. Where's Mr. Tumnus?

Hummis isn't hippy food.
I'm sure hippies eat it, but it is not hippy food. I have never heard it called that!
And I come from the hippy capital of the world - Vancouver Island.

Avocados are good in any decade. In the southwestern US, we will make guacamole at the drop of a hat ... Yum!!!

Isn't hummus actually meditereanian? maybe i am thinking of something else though, lol.

PS this faun don't know, but why does the guac have to be without dairy? It won't have the right texture if you don't do it. I can't believe you peeps don't listen to the californian who lives in the Hispanic Majority area too. My bro has a good recipe i can ask him if you wish. But the lime juice part is smart though, forgot that bit.

If someone eating the guac is lactose-intolerant, you have to go non-dairy, but it will work without the sour cream, I have done it that way when I had no sour cream , it is just not as creamy.

Haggis? Lovely? I've never tasted it, but somehow fresh sheep's bladder from Scotland does not sound agreeable to my tummy...(Is it any good, WHB? Can you relate it to any certain flavor, or is it in a unique class of its own?)

hmmm i don't think i wanna eat haggus either.... :D anyone want some chocolate-covered jalapenos????or other chocolate-covered peppers?i made a chocolate covered jalapeno once and gave it to a lady, she said she liked it and i could tell from the expression on her face that it burned but she enjoyed it lol.
if not chocolate-covered peppers what about "hot(spicy)" Chocolate??

melt chocolate, put a little cinnamon and some chili powder or other ground dried pepper in and cover stuff w/ it(like marshmallows) and enjoy! :D

Oh! I love haggis! Well...when it's made with ground beef...:o. I've never had real haggis, but mama does have a wonderful recipe for fake Haggis. :p

That's very clever, Dernhelm! ;)

As for spicy chocolate, I dunno. The spiciest I've ever tasted it was when I ate mole (chicken dipped in chocolate sauce - the chocolate had some spice to it - I liked it!). Other than that, chocolate just doesn't seem chocolate if it's spicy. I do like cayenne pepper on my Orville Redenbacher popcorn from time to time, tho. (I know, how gross!)

Yes. I've had proper haggis, when I went to Mull years ago, cooked by a proper scot!

Basically, the stomach is just like the skin of a sausage, and unless you think about it being a stomach it dont really bother you. The rest of the stuff is all mashd up so it just tastes like beef mince, but with added liver/kidney flavourings. It was lovely, we had it well complimented with swede - they go well together. You should all try it - just like you should all try black pudding! :D

My first attempt at home made guac was top notch, even if i do say so myself! Nice and simple- avacados, chili, garlic, lemon juice and olive oil all mashed up..I am a genius..and I managed to cater for the seriously allergic too..I am also avalable for weddings, Bar-Mitzfas, funerals etc
