umm....yea!
i was in charge of a dance (last night) and the DJ had some..odd music going and people kept telling me to go request something normal all i could say was
"i listen to eighties and oldies, i'm NO help! " when i said that to a teacher/chaperon they remarked" hey, a good girl!" and i was like,
"yea...my version of a slow song is Castle Blanca or Frank Sinatra" when L.O.V.E came on i was singing along! lol, i'm a loser, but i enjoy it!

Hehe,If you're a loser,I'm it worse..I actually dislike most modern music.:p
But oldies are good...:D:D

Yes................:D:D:D
*sings*"Those oldies but goodies remind me of you..♪♫:p

I don't like much new music either. The only modern music I listen to is Christian rock, and I do love that. But oldies are just so different. :D You can't beat them. They're so sweet and romantic and fun. Oh, and another important thing: most of them are clean. :)

I just love old things. My grandmother passed away a few weeks ago, and while we were sorting through some things, we came across hundreds of old black and white photographs. There were so many, from about the 20's to the 50's. I loved looking through them. :) Not only did it make me feel even more of a connection to my family, especially my grandparents, but it made me even more interested in those time periods (if that was possible). My grandparents had a wonderful love story (he was in the Navy and a Pearl Harbor survivor). Because of that, I might have romantized the idea of those periods of history a little bit. But I even got to keep some of the old pictures and a few Navy postcards with rhymes on them. Well, I got a little off topic, but I can't think about oldies without thinking about them. :o

I like some Christian rock too,but other than that, only oldies for me..and Celtic.:D

Aw.thats so sweet,NATL...I love old stories and photographs..My family was looking at slides the other day,and it just gives you that wonderful warm feeling, doesn't it?:)
Olden times were wonderful,though..even if I've romantized them too,probably...a little simpilar, and sweeter than today,anyway...:)

Yeah, a lot simpler and sweeter. :) Nothing now is like it used to be, and I feel like I missed out on a lot, LOL. I hear sweet stories about couples falling in love, getting married and staying married, and growing old together, and I think that's so sweet. It seems to be getting rarer now, but I surely hope and pray it'll happen to me. :)

Have ya'll ever heard of Reminisce Magazine? My grandma used to get it, and it is such an awesome magazine. It's got all kinds of pictures, stories, traditions, and everything else from the 20's to the 50's or 60's.

Wow, I can't believe you get it! :D I'm thinking about subscribing myself, since I used to read them every time I went up to my grandma's. Hmm. I've never heard of "Betty's Attic," but it sounds like an awesome catalog. How do you go about finding out about it? Do they have a website?

Thanks. :D I definitely have to check that out!

You're welcome.:)Hope you like it.:D

Unrelated question, but just wondering, does anyone know when the board game "Clue" came out?
My grandmother remembers playing it in the 1970s,but I thought it was older than that........

^I'm not sure...To be honest, I don't think I've ever even played that board game. :p But you could probably Google it or look on Wikipedia.
