Anton Yelchin was actually listed among People magazine's most beautiful people of 2009. Wow. I must be pretty ignorant to have never heard of him before.

Is it just me, or does he kind of look like Skandar Keynes? Skandar has a narrower face, but there's a resemblance, I think.

I looooove accents. Though Anton Yelchin is pretty cute, I think I still favor Walter Koenig (Pronounced KAYnig, I discovered) over him in the role of Chekov. There's just something special about Walter Koenig that screams, "I AM PAVEL ANDREIEVICH CHEKOV!!!!!!!" And Anton's Chekov is like, "Uh. Hi. Yeah. I'm Chekov." :p
Not insulting Anton. He's adorable! I just like Koenig better.

I can't agree with that. :eek: I think they're both amazing. Though Leonard Nimoy is King Leonard while Zachary Quinto is simply Prince Zachary. But even my Mom, the ultimate Original Series and the Next Generation Trekkie, thinks Zachary did an excellent job. She like Nimoy better, but she says that's because she grew up with him as Spock. She thinks they're both pretty awesome.
But with Koenig, Yelchin can never match up quite enough. Koenig has the charming Chekov magic. :)

And I think in his own intelligent and ...elegant, if you will, way, Leonard Nimoy is very handsome as well. Looking at what's inside, he's pretty hot. :p

I was saying he wasn't as awesome as Nimoy, but nobody could be :D Quinto did a very good job, he made me want to give Spock a hug because I felt sorry for him :(

And I totally know what you're talking about, but Yelchin was still adorable :D he has his own kind of Chekov magic

It's funny, because I find him more attractive just as himself than as Chekov. O_o

I found some pretty decent pictures of him, actually. Not like, hundreds, like I do of Spock. But a few. ^_^

I think he could be a model. Some of the pictures I've seen of him (like the ones posted here) remind me of pinups of models I've seen in my sister's fashion magazines on ads for cologne and other guy stuff one would find in a fashion magazine. I wonder if he ever considered it?

Don't feel sketchy ... haha. He's really addicting to look at.
I think he totally could be a model! He's like, the sort of atypical attractive guy - like the sort of nerdy kind, you know? (The kind that make me swoon ... hahaha.) And I agree that, as himself, he's really attractive as well. I'm not a huge fan of his clothing choices (looking at photos from premieres and things; I'm not a fan of sunglasses, haha) and I really love his curly hair, and I'm not a fan of the sort of wispy facial hair. But over all, really one of the better-looking actors his age. And he's actually quite clean-cut, judging from photographs of him out and about, unlike certain other actors.

I actually haven't really seen him in anything other than Star Trek, either. I mean, I've seen bits of Charlie Bartlett and Alpha Dog, and I watched an episode of ER he was in, but he was like, ten then. My brother got the new Terminator film on DVD, and Anton's got a pretty big part in that (and was one of the very few well-reviewed aspects of the film), so I might be able to endure watching it sometime.

I'm hoping that more photoshoots and things of him crop up. He's not so well known here yet (though apparently Russia loves him), but for some reason that makes him more appealing as an actor, because he's not being written about constantly in tabloids and the girls who are in love with him are - like us, haha - not rabid fangirls, but more like, quiet devotees (for lack of a better phrase), and I think that - at least for a while - it'll stay that way, because like I said earlier, he's got that atypical, nerdy sort of prettiness that a lot of people just don't go gaga over.

Lol "nerdy sort of prettiness". I like that, because most guys I like can be describes that way.
Or, actually, a lot of guys I like (but not necessarily Anton) can be described as classy guys. Well, in the way that I mostly like guys from the 1960s and 1970s but some from the 1980s. Like my attraction to Walter Koenig as Chekov comes from his resemblance to the other 1960s guys I'm so gaga over (not to mention the adorable Russian accent. ^_^)

I realize he's not really one you'd find constantly splattered over magazine covers, though People Magazine did list him as one of their Most Beautiful People of 2009.

Apparently they cast Walter Koenig as Chekov originally because of his resemblance to Davy Jones of the Monkees. They wanted to attract younger people, including teenage girls, so they figured if he looked like a cute member of a popular band that they'd get more teenage girl viewers.
