Pirates II -- Come on, Be A Pirate (Please do not delete)

Emmy was frozen with fear. She knew that her brother was a bad thing, "IOWW!!! We be in fer some BIG trouble here!" She couldn't take her eyes off of him, to be safe.

ooc- I don't think Jeff will mind too much if we use his character, and Twilight said she would do most of the posting for him. So, just for fluidity of character, please PM her with any ideas you have...:) Oh, Jeff, if you read this, obviously your character is completely yours and you can do whatever you want...:)

I'm here, but where is everyone else?! hehe - actually, if you wouldn't mind filling me in. The Wizard Saruman wants to stay away from Narnia?!?!?!?! I'm up for ideas and suggestions on some new twists and turns for our RPG. Just let me know what's happening please. :)

ooc: Well, there's a big ol' battle going on between the Pirates and the British Navy; Machia fell overboard and Fish ran to rescue him, but they ended up being pulled aboard a British ship on which Saruman was, etc... Azgar was busy destroying ships until Saruman conjured up something to stop him. ;) I thought you wouldn't mind if I inserted that. :D

The ship sailed in calm waters, near the end of the world. It was night, a full moon. He was waiting, waiting for another ship. With a green flash the ship he was awaiting had appeared.
The crew on the strange, black, ghost ship were undead souls, and the captain stood on starboard side to greet the man in the mask.

"I am ready," the masked man said.

"I hope so, you've tried many times and failed," said the ghost captain in an eery voice.

"This time I'll have your help, my ancient beliefs will not get in the way now."

"Good. You'll need a crew." The ghost captain pulled out a tablet and read some words out loud in an ancient forgotten language, then with a storm, the stolen fisherman's ship transformed in a pitch black war ship. A war ship the immortals before time used, when Narnia and the surrounding countries were only a void, and the waters only pools of ash. There was a crew now, the immortals, dressed in their traditional black armor, wearing silver masks, never speaking a word. The strange masked man now had the garb of a war lord, the same that the demon prince Agares (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agares) wore. He could hear the roar of a large crocodile below deck, and a hawk in the crow's nest.

The ghost captain smiled, "You will no longer be known as Lord Revan, but now as Prince Agares. Go forth and do my bidding. Kill the lion and those who follow him."

Agares bowed, "I will not rest until I wear his mane and have a cup of his follower's blood."

ooc- We're all watching the Indians lose. Horribly...

So basically, the FF all PMed eachother and decided that getting back to Narnia would be a good idea, since we seem to be out of storyline here....Machia and I were talking about how best to go about getting back to Narnia, and this is what we decided: Saruman wants to go back to Narnia and is convinced that the pirates know how because we've been in this position before. So when Machia fell overboard and I jumped in to save him, you took advantage of the situation and had us picked up by a British ship. That's where we are right now... Now you get the fun job of coming up with any and every way to get Machia and I to tell you how to get back to Narnia. Somehow or other, we (being you, Machia, me, and anyone else on your ship) do just that. Meanwhile, while our pirate friends are looking for us, they also accidentally get back to Narnia, without realizing that Machia and I are already there...

This serves several purposes: One, a capture tends to up the posts. Two, we all get back to Narnia while staying true to the "you only find Narnia when you aren't looking for it". Three, getting back to Narnia will hopefully bring a lot of new storyline, plus we get our teleportation powers back!!!

So basically, sticking along that basic pattern, you are free to do whatever you'd like... It's much more fun that way...:)

 when are you coming back to the rangers? :D We're soooooooooooo much better than the Pirates!

ooc- I'll be gone over the weekend, everyone. Softball in Cali, and such.

Stay safe! And don't you all disappear while I'm gone. ;)

"Arrr... He's lying..." Machia growled once Saruman had left... "How else would he have known how to get ter Earth in the firs' place? The Wizard can move around from world ter world jus' as well as we can... Better even, 'cause he actually means to go ter another world, whereas with us, it jus' sorta happens by accident..." A cannon fired from somewhere on the ship.... The First Mate stood in silence for a moment, staring in the direction he knew the Dauntless was...

"Is he, mate? How often have we known the Wizard to bluff? Arr...think about it: Do we actually know how to git from one world to the other? Aye, gittin' around Middle Earth to Narnia is jest a matter o' sailin' in the right direction, but it jest ain't that way gittin' from Earth to Narnia. Let's see...the first time, we were jest sailin' 'round the Burmuda Triangle area and we ended up in Narnia fer the first time. Arrr...and we got back to earth while we were caught up in the middle o' a storm. But the wizard's not been here before. Did he even know that this is where we came from? Nay, mate, I have a bad feelin' 'bout this..." Another cannon blast hit a ship in the direction of the Dauntless, and Fish shuddered. "Arr...Lord, protect 'em..." Fish thought.

_______________________________________________________________
*Meanwhile*

Norrington viciously pounded in another nail with each word... "What.. Fish.. doesn't... know... won't... hurt... her..." He hit the last nail in... "Or me, as the case may be..." He stood back to survey his work... "Well, that should hold for a little while anyway..." The ship lurched again as another cannon ball hit it...

"There's someone overboard!" Kris yelled, "But I don't recognize him!"
The man in the water swam right up to the Dauntless and grabbed onto a low rope. Swiftly and skillfully, he climbed on board.
Aravis was waiting for him, and she had her cutlass drawn. "Arr...that was foolish, Brit. Yer not goin' to be doin' a lot o' spyin' from the brig." She motioned to two large pirates. "I want him guarded by--"
"What, I don't git a chance ter defend meself?" The man said cheerfully.
Aravis was taken aback. "Ye speak like one o' us!"
"Aye, perhaps that's because I am one o' ye. Well, one o' yer kind, at least. Name's Betancourt. I was the Cap'n o' a pirate crew that was taken by the Navy not two months back. I'm pretty handy with a hammer, so the Brits kept me around on their ships, fixin' odds and ends 'n such. Arr...t'wasn't a pirate's life, but 'least I was on a ship. But the Navy's been takin' down every pirate 'n his brother. Y'all must be the last pirate crew in existance. How'd ye manage to escape this long?" Another blast hit the ship, and they were all caught off balance.

"Arr...I think that story is best left fer another time," Aravis said. "Right now, our ship's in the process o' sinking, and I've got duties to attend to. Oh, and if ye don't mind, we be having some serious damage to the hull o' our ship, and I'm afraid our resident carpenter, Fish, was one o' those captured. And as none o' us really know a whole lot about carpentry..."

Betancourt smiled, "O' course, Cap'n. Jest show me where ye keep the supplies. Oh, which ship are yer mates aboard? I know the sailin' route o' almost every Navy ship."

Aravis pointed the ship out, and the smile left Betancourt's face. "What use would that ship have fer pirates?" He muttered to himself.

"What ye say, mate?" Aravis asked.

"Arr...that crew aboard that ship all be members o' the Navy, but it isn't a Navy ship. It's controlled by this strange man who jest seemed to come from nowhere not three months ago and named himself Cap'n o' a British ship. The funny thing is, he was accepted as such by the Commodore and crew. It was as if it was normal fer civvies to come and proclaim themselves Cap'n's o' Bristish Navy ships... Arr...calls himself Saruman. Strange name, if ye ask me."

Aravis felt her insides turn cold. "Saruman?" She thought. "Now what does he want?" She cleared her throat and said aloud, "Aye, well, ye can tell us more later. Right now we have more pressing issues."

 when are you coming back to the rangers? :D We're soooooooooooo much better than the Pirates!

HIM?!?!?! Does that look like a him to you???

Ooc: Excuse me. I wasnt' reading the name carefully. Sorry about that.

ic: "ARRR!! LET 'EM HAVE IT MATES!!! AS MUCH AS WE HAVE, AND AS MUCH AS THEY'LL TAKE AND MORE!!!' Twilight screamed over the hubbub of the sea battle. The small pirate ship was putting up a valiant fight, led by the Captain, IOWW and the Twilight Terror, as well as the other pirate gunners but they were clearly overmatched against the armed to the teeth British Navy. Betancourt was patching as fast as he could, and was still bellowing for more wood and nails. Twilight let loose with another barrage from thier cannons and stuffed power bags and cannonballs into the cannons as fast as she could, while still keeping an eye on the ship closest to them. They also were scrambling to reload amidst the smoke and dust that thier cannons created on thier ship. Twilight noticed that some of the smoke came from well aimed cannonballs from their ship, but not enough. Even the best shot in the world would have trouble hitting vital areas of another ship when your own was pitching through the waves as well as being shot at from another ship. Twilight had dealt with similiar battles, but mostly in ships that she had helped build, or at least been with for more than a week or two. She knew little about the inns and outs of this stolen ship, and it was making the battle much more difficult.

"Arrr, Capn', how long do ye think before these Brit's break fer tea time, eh'?" quipped Twilight as the Captain walked by.

"Arr, if only it were that easy Twilight... They don't look very thirsty to me..." answered Capn' Aravis, wiping her brow with her torn sleeve.

"Well, I guess they wouldn't be Capn'. With all the holes we be blowin in them I bet they've got about as much of the drink as they can handle..." Twilight twisted her face in a grim smile. "READY MATES? FIREE!!!" The pirate cannons fired, blowing a few new holes in the British ship, but only a few nicked the British gunners. Twilight saw the British Master Gunner's mouth form the word fire a split second before she took cover behind her cannon. There was a confused noise of screams and blasts all around for a few moments. As soon as things had calmed sufficiently she was back to stuffing powder and balls in the cannons. "ARR! Everyone all right then mateys?" She asked, sweeping her glance around. Her fellow gunners seemed mostly unharmed, IOWW was still at the helm, manuevering with nerves of steel in the sea battle, and the Capn'....

Twilight dropped the cannonball she was carrying and ran over to Aravis. She was lying still on the ground, her sword dropped underneath her. Her hat had slid all the way to the other side of the deck. Twilight snatched her Capn' up from the ground and turned her over with and icy fear in her heart. She scanned her back for wounds. Yes, there was one, but not too deep. Her sword had fallen at almost the right angle for it not to harm her. Almost. Her dark hair was matted and a large wound grazed the top of it. Twilight put her grimy fingers on the Capn's neck, feeling, praying... Ahh... she felt it at last. The pulse. "Thankee Aslan..." She breathed. Twilight hoised the Captain on her shoulders and looked around. The British ship was still reloading, and her gunners were about ready to fire. "ARRR! Fire mates! The Capn' will be all right, I'm takin her below. I'll be back though, don't ye worry! They may have taken our First Matey and Fish, and now they've wounded the Capn', but I'm tellin' ye, they WONT have me. Not ever. And the wizard, never again...." Twilight ran below deck, leaving the wounded Captain with the almost as badly wounded pirates and ran up to the explosions from the British ships. She stood behind her cannons and fired.

ooc: Ok, I know QA48 is busy right now, so I figured having her character hurt would be a good way to let the RPG proceed and still let her come in whenever she can. Right now, according the to FF chain of command, Twilight is in charge and IOWW is the first mate. Hee, hee... Feel the power!!

Kris was still with the other pirate who was talking to her to looking up with her hand over her head.
" Arr what ye need to do to get off this ship?," She ask herself.

Emmy lost sight of her brother as the ship was fired at again. She was shaken back into reality and started barking out orders, because she knew they had to win this, "Oie! You there! Yes you! Don't just stand there, reload the cannons and fire!! We're in a battle here, and we can't slack off cause we're tired!!" She was red in the face and about ready to blow. Emmy scanned the deck and found that a number of pirates were missing, including the captian. Quickly she ran below deck and into the injured section.

Emmy tended to those who needed, but couldn't get to people fast enough, "I need more water ye scurvy crow! An' make sure it's CLEAN this time!!" Annie Jane ran off to find more water. Emmy took a sip of rum as the ship was hit again and she nearly swallowed her tounge, "Bloody British."

Agares started to regret the deal with the ghost man, maybe he was getting himself in too deep. And Agares had always hated being under someone.

The black ship set sail for Narnia, those who he hunts with ravenous hunger are not on this world. He must wait. So stays on water, waiting to feel their presence.

IOWW saw the helmsman get gunned down as she took shelter in the stairway.
" Fer the love o' Aslan..." IOWW checked to see if it was clear and, as quickly as she could with her injuries, hobbled to the helm to control the ship.

"Is he, mate? How often have we known the Wizard to bluff? Arr...think about it: Do we actually know how to git from one world to the other? Nay, mate, I have a bad feelin' 'bout this..." Another cannon blast hit a ship in the direction of the Dauntless, and Fish shuddered. "Arr...Lord, protect 'em..." Fish thought.

"Arrr.... how often 'ave I know the Wizard ter bluff?" Machia asked, raising his eyebrows... "Gar, he jus' lies every other word is all... But thar be somethin' in what ye say... Arrr, I wonder how he got here an' in charge o' the British navy then?" Another cannon shot was fired followed by a loud 'crunch' from the direction of the Dauntless. Machia swallowed and turned quickly toward the sound... "Arrrr... Do ye think..."

But Machia's word were cut short by the sound of approaching footsteps... A door swung open and two soldiers came in carrying two trays... Two magnificent dinners were set on the trays... The sent of warm bread, pheasant, applesauce and vegetable stew filled the brig... The soldiers set the meals down in front of Fish and Machia, along with a flask of the finest mead aboard the ship...

"Courtesy of the Wizard Saruman." one of the soldiers said, with an incredibly low bow... "He does not wish for his guests to go hungry during their stay here. He has also send bandages and the finest medical ointments so you may treat your wounds." As he said this he lay a bag full of medical supplies at their feet.

"Arrr, great..." Machia said sarcastically, "Did he think ter send pillows down too, so we don't have ter sit on the hard floor? Or better yet, maybe give us each a cabin where we can streach out an' relax... Maybe catch a bit o' a nap, while he destroys our ship and our crew?" The First Mate kicked the bag of supplies across the floor... The soldier bowed and started to back out the door... "The pillows can be arranged." he said and shut the door behind him...

"Arrr..." Machia muttered, "Now the wizard tries to poison us... Really ingenious... Jus' send us any food an' we'll eat it straight off... Won't even stop ter maybe consider that t'might be dangerous... How dumb does he think we are?" The smell coming from the food began to get stronger... The longer they sat smelling the food the more hungry they became... Fish pushed the food farther across the floor with her foot.... "Nay, that's just what he wants us to do. He trying to make us eat it. There's some magic in that food. An' I don't think he means for to kill us."

Machia mouth began to dry out. The smell of the food was so tantalizing he almost couldn't bear it. Fish jumped to her feet and started to pace the cell, her hand clapped over her mouth and nose, trying unsuccessfully to block the smell. Machia's head started to pound. If he didn't eat soon he would go insane. Fish stumbled back against the wall and slumped down to a sitting position her head resting on her knees. Machia had both hands pressed against his forehead, his hair clutched in his fists... Suddenly the ship lurched and both plates of food slid across the floor and came neatly to rest in front of the two pirate leaders...

Soo... Yeah. I'm back. For a little while at least.

Now then, down to the fun stuff. I want to measure myself. basically, I joined another forum. RPed on there for a year or so, and now I want to see how much better I've gotten. Self-righteous? Yes. But yet still necessary. So, with the 'great' pirates permission, I'd like to take up a role as a temporary villain, as long as your not too busy with some thing or another. Aptly named Kyn. If you need a template, I'll do so, but if I'm still familiar with this level of role-playing, I won't.

ooc: Well, lookie dat... somebody I've never even met comes back! :D How'd'ya do, Proto? I'm Olorin, Azgar in the RPG. ;) I dunno about the temporary villain stuff though - you'd have to ask the FF. ;) I'm still pretty low on the totem pole. :D

"Arrr.... how often 'ave I know the Wizard ter bluff?" Machia asked, raising his eyebrows... "Gar, he jus' lies every other word is all... But thar be somethin' in what ye say... Arrr, I wonder how he got here an' in charge o' the British navy then?"
..................

"Arr....ferget it, mate." Fish yet again pushed the food away with her foot. "Here, let me clean ye up..." She reached into the bag and found some antiseptic and various sizes of bandages...

"Arr...this is going to sting a bit, mate," she said after she had undone the makeshift bandages she had put on the night before... Carefully she dabbed the antiseptic on his hand. "This is worse than I thought, Machia... Look, ye can see the bone right through here... Arr.... that's jest nasty... Well, ye've had worse. Ye'll be fine." Fish wrapped his hand tightly with a fresh bandage. She then proceeded to unwrap the rag from his head and cleanse that wound also. "Thankfully this gash ain't too deep. Jest bloody..."

The smell of the food gripped them again as the ship tilted at the plates inched nearer... "Nay..." Machia said forcefully, though both he and Fish looked longingly at the food.

"Arr...why don't we figure out what be broken..." Fish quickly said, forcing herself to look back toward Machia. "Stand up, mate," she told him. He gave her a reproachful look, but she quickly dismissed it. "Don't think I didn't notice ye flinching every time ye moved when the wizard came in..."

"Aye...aye..." he sighed. Looking back at the plates, he stood up. Fish made him twist his arms and torso in various directions. After several minutes, she spoke.

"Well, I ain't no doctor, but I stand by what I said. Ye've definitely a coupla' broken ribs, an' I don't think bandagin' yer left arm down would hurt, as it seems perhaps ye've broken yer left collarbone. If we don't try'n fix that, it'll only git worse 'fore it gits better...." Machia looked warily at the heavy bandages in Fish's hands, but before either could say or do anything more, the ship lurched violently, and they were both thrown down right next to the food.

"Arr...I can't take it anymore!" Fish finally shouted. Dropping the bandages and all thoughts of doctoring Machia, she grabbed the pheasant meat and took a rather large bite.

"Fish, no!" Machia shouted as she reached for the food. But after her mouth was full, he reached for his plate also...going for the applesauce first, of course....

It didn't take long for each of them to clean their plates. Fish looked down at her plate, feeling dissatisfied. "Ye know, Machia," she said, "I'm feelin' guilty fer eatin' in the first place, but I can't help but want more... Arr...And I'm not even hungry anymore..."

Aravis found Betancourt in the galley. He was whistling cheerfully as he patched up another hole caused by the heavy cannon fire. "Wow, mate," she said, "If I didn't know better, I'd say t'was Fish herself who did that.

"Thankee. That's quite a compliment." Betancourt looked like he wanted to say something, but decided against it. He turned and hammered another nail into the plank he had just put up. Suddenly, he turned back around to face Aravis and said nervously, "Now, I know I'm jest a hand aboard this ship 'n not a Cap'n, but I do have several years o' experience as one. So may I suggest we fly? Even we did have Fish aboard, we just can't fix the ship faster than they're breakin' it. We'll sink and die or be captured jest like yer other mates. If we've any chance o' gittin' them back, it ain't now."
