Pirates II -- Come on, Be A Pirate (Please do not delete)

"Possibly. But then, maybe not. If Saruman is in control here (and if I know anything about him, he must be if he's had any time at all here), then he may have populated the place with who-knows-what horrors that come out at night." Azgar stared off into space, musing. "What was the Pirates' main base in Narnia?"

"Main base...well, the only thing close to our main base ould be Cair Paravel. But, I'm sure that's where Saruman has made his base at. It was his during the wars before we came back to earth."
IOWW grimaced, "Orcs...I think I can smell them from here..." she waved her hand around as if to try and waft the smell away," We have to go ashore eventually...at night may be our best shot, seeing as we can hide easily."

She sighed.
"I was a Princess there and I don't care if no one remembers me," She told him

OOC: I reply like twice now and it don't go throw *sigh*

"Princess? In Narnia?" He thought for a moment, "I don't remember a Princess in my time being here...how long ago did you live here in Narnia?

"I could scout around, if you like," Azgar offered.
IOWW looked startled. "Scout? How? You might be kind of... conspicuous, you know."
"Let me show you," Azgar said. He stepped to the edge of the deck. The air around him shimmered and became an opaque silver. When the disturbance had vanished, a white albatross was looking at IOWW with its head cocked.

She look up.
" I'm eightteen now it for four no five years ago," She told him.
"Ah...so that could've been thousands of years ago here...I think you're safe from anything back then."

"Ah, the albatross. Yes, scout ahead, we need to know what we're up against."

Betancourt teleported up to deck. "Arr...this be the best I've felt in years!" He grinned, taking a deep breath of Narnian air. Then his smile faltered a little and he seemed to hesitate in saying something. "...uh...not to be a killjoy, but...yer mates - Machia and Fish - who says they're back in Narnia? Well, I suppose all we need to do is figure out if Saruman came back, and chances are yer mates are with him, but...how do ye even know then?"

IOWW bit her lip and looked down at the deck. "And what's more... We were on earth for...what, two years?" She glanced at the map in her hands, and then back up at the shoreline. "Arr...but the map - and my memory - serves to tell me that grassy fields only dotted with trees should be along the countryside. Yet...I see a forest, denser than any other I remember..."

Aravis shook her head. "A forest can't be grown in a mere two years. Arr...I remember the stories of old had somethin' o' this. The High King Peter and his brother and sisters went back and forth to Narnia. They then wrote about how a lifetime in Narnia past no more than a second of Earth time, but then, perhaps a minute of Earth time passed 1000 Narnian years. It was never the same... Who knows how many Narnian years have passed since we went back to Earth..."

"So, then," Betancourt began slowly, "hypothetically speaking, let's say...500 Narnian years passed since you all - including Fish and Machia - were last here. Then let's say that Saruman and your two mates came back to Narnia...a week before we did. Perhaps when they arrived in Narnia, only...I don't know...400 years had passed. So, even if they are - or were - here, would they - or could they - be elderly? Or have even died of old age?"

The albatross that was Azgar took off from the deck. Catching a rising thermal of warm air, it spiraled up until it was a mere speck into the sky. At the top of the thermal it peeled off and flew toward shore.

"Or Saruman had them executed..." Norrington muttered under his breath, as he leaned over the railing surveying this new world with cold eyes... The air was different here... And Norrington hated it... he hated the whole feel of this world... There was something unnatural about it... Something wild; an uncivilized world... And it seemed, as he'd suspected on earth, that the pirates had brought him into this terrible world for nothing... Did none of them think about this time gap before?

Norrington straightened up and started to move towards the group of people standing a little way down the deck... Then suddenly he was there, and he felt a terrible pounding pain in his temple... The teleportation shocked and frightened him and seemed to make this world only more horrible... "So, this is your world?" He spat through clenched teeth... "I demand that you take me back to Earth..."

"Hmm...Nay, that much time couldn't have passed. The stories of old said that the Pevensies were gone for a bout a year, and 500 years had passed. If you figure the math, a little more than one year passes in Narnia with one earth day. That would mean, if Machia and Fish had been brought to Narnia, they're 5 or so years ahead of us. So, there's a good chance they're still here, and pretty much their young selves."
Aravis and Azgar stared at her,
"What? I'm a navigator, I have to do SOME math."

Meanwhile

"I ain't forcin you to get off the ship." The pirate told Kris, "Ye just have to consult the FF, or what's left of it, on letting you stay. I'm sure they'll let yeh guard the ship."

She smiled at him.
" Arr if I change my Mind I'll let ye know," She said,
She look up at the clear blue sky with a sigh.
" But I keep your word right now," She told him.

"Good luck with that, " IOWW replied sarcastically, "I see you can teleport, too. Why don't you try teleporting back to earth?"

She smiled at him.

"Arr, pirates honor." The pirate mockingly held his hand up, as if swearing an oath.

"Good luck with that, " IOWW replied sarcastically, "I see you can teleport, too. Why don't you try teleporting back to earth?"

"Perhaps I will..." He replied under his breath, and then said louder... "So... The plan is to go ashore into the pitch black, where who-knows-what-kind-of-terrors are running around ready to kill the first unsuspecting sailor to come shore... Ghastly plan, but since you won't go back, I suppose the only other option is sitting here in the ship until the terrors come aboard and find us... Death either way... Pleasant.."

ooc: Wow, Norrington is a lot more depressing to write then the First Mate was...:D

ooc- haha, like puddleglum, but ten times more sad and angry.:D

ic- "Why do you think we're bringing you a long?" IOWW smiled slyly, "You're our sacrifice for whatever creatures lurk on those lands. You know, just incase the creatures of narnia have become...uncivilized..." IOWW chuckled evily.

Norrington's eyes widened and he took a step backwards, gaping at IOWW... From what he'd seen of the Pirates (Or imagined he'd seen.) this seemed like something they might possibly do...

"Y-You're... You're not serious..." He managed to sputter uncertainly after a few seconds...

"Aye, he's the foreign...man... Arr...well, I suppose I might be, too, but I'm at least a pirate... Which makes me less foreign to all ye than he is..." ;) :D Betancourt grinned and put his arm on Norrington's shoulder and leaned against him...

Norrington got a whiff of unwashed pirate and pushed him off gagging... "At least I've washed in the last 15 years..." He muttered, pulling out a rag from his jacket and coughing into it... "Oh, I think I'm going to be sick... Where is the medical cabin?"

"You wont be needing it if we go on shore..." IOWW grinned evily.
"Now, should we move tonight, and just check the surroundings? I mean, of course we'll wait for Azgar's albatross to return..."

The albatross floated on the wind high above the land. A dense forest was spread below. Suddenly, he sighted several dense columns of smoke. He swooped in for a closer look.

OOC: Sorry to poke a hole in your theory, IOWW, but the rate of time that passes on Earth to time that passes in Narnia isn't constant, remember? The first time the Pevensies left Narnia for a year, about 1000 years had passed. The second time they left for a year or so, however, only 3 years passed. And the third time, when Eustace and Jill came back, about 70 years had passed. So really the pirates have no definite way of knowing how long it's been in Narnia. :p
