Prince Caspian: Ben Barnes & why is he so old?

I'll have to agree with you, for various reasons. But I also agree with SonOfAdam, in that the creators, working for Disney (which has to get its greasy hands in anything and everything it can, for monetary reasons, of course), really could care less what we think. And besides, enough dummies will go and see the film five-hundred or more times, just for the effects or so they can swoon over this Orlando-Bloom/Johnny Depp wannabe, to the point that Adamson and Co. will have the millions they hoped for, and that's without moychandising..moychandising..where the really money from the movie is made. Also, as TrueNarnian stated there is a thread for PC:BB in general, but, seeing as this is a specific issue, perhaps this could exist as its own thread...maybe. Whatev the mods say goes...I guess.

Someone is over reacting! :eek: And some 14 year old boys DO have...stubble, I worked with a 15 year old once and he could grow a full face beard. ;)

There isn't that much to get that upset. I mean for heaven's sake, Will Moseley is older than Peter, so what's up with the age thing? If he's a good actor and can pull Caspian off well enough, I'd say, let it rest.

Oh, and Cyon, I don't appreciate being called a "dummy" for seeing the film five hundred times. Very degrading.

Well not this 14 year old. This is caspian, whose a BOY in Prince Caspian. A boy between edmond and peter's age. A boy a few years older than Lucy. I KNOW THE BOOK VERY WELL AND No one is ever going to convince me otherwise.

Brainwashers that try to make us forget and change original things to their liking so they think they are the one's being original...
 
I personally know a thirteen year old who has a full mustache and could have a full beard if he wanted to, and yes I am sure he is thirteen.
And by the way I pretty much have the book memorized, I know that Peter and Caspian were probably no more than thirteen. But they also have to deal with things like the age of the current actors- Will is twenty, Anna is eighteen, Skander, who might I add also has facial hair, is sixteen, Georgie is twelve

But how can you be "true to the story" when you are not being true to the character and are trying to cast a man in a boy's role? How can you do that?

Why not just get Michael Jackson? He thinks he's a boy and one could probably write a script for him that is true to the story....

Because it's the actor's performance that matters, not his age.

Michael Jackson is a weirdo, and he needs help; serious help.

I think that since there's already another thread on this, a mod needs to lock it so there aren't two threads.
 
Some people just are not worth talking too. I am tired of having to argue the case for the reasonableness of the choice, I am not a lawyer for goodness sake. HE IS CASPIAN, DEAL WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not going to say it again on this thread.

Yes, I agree. The casting process is over with for Caspian; unless you want to write in to the company (who wouldnt' listen to anybody anyway)
 
Yep, i am just hoping the rest of the cast is not as controversial as Caspian is I so sick and tired of playing Defence Lawyer. It is over, why do we need to keep beating the same dead topic.

William Moseley was a few years older than Peter. He was a 16 year old boy signed by Pippa Hall, a children's casting agent, when he got the role for 14 year old Peter. He was a 17 year old boy when they filmed. This guy is 25!!! trying to pull off at least a decade younger. He was already in his early 20's when William Moseley was a little boy first trying out for The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe!

At the very least he is supposed to be younger than Will...

He's just way too old. His performance will be affected by it. It can't help but be.

Two months ago and longer everyone was raving about not getting a Caspian that was too old and it has just happened. This guy's been jammed down our throats.
 
This isn't important! For goodness' sake, let it go! The casting process is finished with. You can't change it, so isn't it better to stop complaining and griping about it?

If you think he's too old, then dont' support PC. Whatsoever. Dont' see it. That will cure a lot of your problems.

Anyone who doesn't think he looks too old is REALLY old themselves and all dried up. People older than 40 are the only ones who MIGHT think he looks anywhere close to the boy caspian. But my mom came in the room and she's 54 and she said right away that he looks old. It was the first thing she said about him. So then its just out-of-shape, nearsited old farts and jaded, egotistical movie people who think he's not too old.

This is what I hate about the internet. Anyone can come on and type cute smilies and talk young and use cute phrases but really they are old farts with way too much time on their hands and no judgement.

To sum it up: This thread is Dead For Deams. And Mrs. Obi-Wan Kenobi, I guess, if you want it so, you can take my statement referring to the dummies who thoughtlessly hand over millions to under-rate filmmakers as referring to you if you want it to...I can't stop you there. But I wasn't referring to you, just to clear things up. Nothing personal.
