Prince Caspian: Ben Barnes & why is he so old?

Same here. But he doesn't look 25. he looks about 19. But that's still too old for Caspian.
Oh well. I think he'll do a great job!
 
Ben is playing Caspian and not Rilian as far as we know. I don't think he should play both Caspian and Rilian.

I think it would be cool for Simon Curtis to be able to audition for the role of Rilian, but that's just me. He looks like he could be related to Ben even though he isn't, he auditioned for the role of Prince Caspian, and is a TDLer...it would be cool.
 
I definitely think that Rilian will be around twenty-five maybe even thirty, and I do not think that Ben Barnes will play him especially since he is supposedly playing Caspian in Silver Chair. About Rilian's age, remember he was old enough to go on hunting trips and the like without his father before he was captured, and he spent ten years under the Emerald Witch's spell.

In The Pocket Companion to Narnia by Paul F. Ford, it says that Rilian is supposed to be 31 in SC. I always imagined him as being in his twenties...:confused:

I don't think Ford knows what he's talking about ... The book says he's a young man. To me, 30 is young, but from the point of view of Scrubb and Pole, 31 would be pretty old.
 
I do not think Ben will have to cut his hair, I believe the style in Narnia would have been longer hair, the only reason that Skander and William had to get their hair cut is that the style on earth ine the 1940's was short hair and a clean shave for men and young boys.
 
Rilian being 30 or 31 wouldn't be bad to me. It depends on the actor. His character would have been held by the Green lady for 10 years and old enough before that to be interested in her as a woman. I always pictured him to be a bit older than Jill and Eustace. I'm just shy of 30 myself, but I could pass for a teenager if I felt like it without struggling much.
