Rangers of the Dancing Lawn!

IOWW was pacing nervously around the camp; Her hand resting softly on her pistol.
"Please keep 'em safe, Aslan..." She said softly.

ooc- Hey guys, I'm back.

ooc: Hey IOWW, not many people noticed this, but Twilight did take you with her on her journey to recruit the dwarves and stop the fires. So if you want to still come along, you can play along.

For everyone who's confused: The pirates landed in Narnia and walked to the Ranger's camp. Now we're here waiting for Saruman to send us a rude reply to our offer of reconciliation so we can attack him. And SLPnarniaqueen and Emmy, and some other people are sneaking into Cair Paravel to steal back Susan's horn and summon the Pevensies. All clear? If not, PM me.

ic: Twilight, IOWW and Ranger Eladin walked almost silently through the ravaged woods. The trees, most of which were not dryad trees thankfully, were blackened and dead. The undergrowth could barely be seen, growing greenly through the dead leaves and grass. Twilight's face was set, she seemed almost pained as she strode through the forest. This devastation was not caused by Saruman's orcs, it had happened long enough ago for the grass to begin to grow again. This fire had been set by Twilight's own hand when she was under the control of the evil ring. IOWW and the Ranger were quiet, sensing Twilight's disturbance and anger. Finally they came to a clearing where the fire damage seemed worse than in the woods. There was a large black circle of burned debris, but farther into the clearing there was a cave, and outside it stood an old, wizened dwarf who was slightly taller than the average. Twilight paused for a second, then whispered to IOWW.
"That be the leader of the dwarf settlement that I... well torched when I was Evil Twilight. He knew me when I was a young girl. Maybe he'll be the best one to talk to. What do ye think?"

Machia was crouched in the shadows near the entrance to the camp... He had volunteered to keep watch outside the camp with the other rangers... Mostly because he felt that he had to do something useful or he would lose his mind... He had been given a bow and a quiver full of arrows and was now peering into the darkness, hardly moving at all... Suddenly he heard something move over to his left... The First Mate quickly turned to look in that direction, but he couldn't see anything... He fitted an arrow into the bowstring, prepared to shoot... Just then he heard a "Meow" and realized that it was just Pierre... "Arrr... matey, I thought I told ye to stay on the ship..." Machia muttered to the cat with a half smile... "Ye don't want to be shot by someone thinkin' yer an orc do ye?" Pierre just purred... Machia shook his head, "Gar, have it yer way then, matey..." He said and turned back to watch the woods which were growing darker every second...

Fish was pacing back and forth at the camp. "Arr...this ain't working," she muttered to herself. There seemed to be nothing to do but wait. Wait to hear from those on the mission to Cair. Wait for the wizard to start some new trouble. Wait for the silence that loomed over camp to be broken. Fish sighed, grabbed the bow and quiver that Elf had given her when they had first built the Black Spot together, and crept off into the forest. She hadn't walked for more than five minutes before she saw Machia, sitting against a tree, petting what seemed to be air.

"Arr...matey, any news?" Fish asked quietly as she sat down next to him. "I know we're in war and steath be something important, but don't it jest seem too quiet-like? As much as I hate the thought, I can't imagine the wizard truly not knowing we're here."

"Aye, it's quiet.." Machia said softly, "Way too quiet... No news from any o' the scouts.. Nothin' from the Mateys at Cair or from Twilight and them with the dwarves..." Machia reached into his pocket and produced an apple slice which he fed to the invisible cat next to him, "Arrr... The Wizard? Oh, there's little doubt he knows we're here... I think he probably knows where the Black Spot is docked... Whether he knows where we put to shore or not remains to be seen... An' even if he doesn't know that the Black Spot is there yet, he will soon... The Ship's not easy to hide an' with these orcs burin' the trees everywhere he's sure to hear rumors..." Machia shifted nervously and stared off into the dark woods again for a minute... At length he said, "Arrr... Tisn't natural.... This silence... It makes me feel uneasy and restless... I partly wish that Saruman would jus' unleash all his terror on us right now an' let us fight, instead o' jus' lettin' us sit here in this wretched silence...."

ooc- lol, I totally remember reading it...I guess I just spaced when I went to post. M'kay, I'm with you.

ic- IOWW nodded in agreeance(I.still.can't.spell.)
"I say we go talk to him...I'll lead the way..." IOWW started to walk through the charred remains of what used to be a dwarf settlement. It wasn't long before the Dwarf saw her and readied his bow. IOWW raised her hands in the air,
"Arrr, don't be shootin me, master dwarf." IOWW told him from where she froze," I be IOWW, a pirate aboard the Black spot. We've been meaning to talk to you."
"How do I know you aren't a traitor?" The dwarf shouted angrily from his spot in the cave, adding more tension to his bow and to the situation.
"You don't," IOWW replied calmly," but if I were going to harm you, don't you think I would've been a bit more sneaky about it? I've brought a ranger by the name of Eladin, and an old friend of yours..." At this, IOWW turned to Twilight whom took a few steps forward.
"Let us speak with you, please..."

ooc- Twilight, your turn. :D

"Arr...so what if we don't sit here in silence? Let's DV the wizard- ye know, taunt him a bit. With any luck he'll want to show off his power and come here to meet us face to face. Plus, if we don't tell him where we are and he still finds us, that gives us an idea of how closely he's been watching. And with even more luck, attention will be drawn away from Cair fer a bit, giving our mateys there better odds of success..."

OOC: Can someone inform me of our current situation?
ooc- I'm waiting for twilight so we can continue talking to the dwarves..but, not many people have been here the past few days. Fyn, lucy and Emmy are in the Knights thread on their journey to Cair Paravel.

....Okay... Can someone inform me of where my character is located? I'm kind of lost :p
ooc- Most likely at the rangers camp...the only ones who aren't are Fyn, Lucy, Emmy, Twilight and IOWW.

Just...do whatever. lol

Uh.... okay.... o_O

IC: Chloe watched over the sleeping wounded soldiers. She had done all she could... It was in Aslan's hands now, and she trusted his decision.

OOC: I believe the last thing I was doing was attempting to heal some of the rangers.

ooc- lol, okay then, go with that. :D

I'll uh...um...lol, I have nothing to do now...

A cold wind blew through the Ranger's camp and a steady rain started to fall through the trees... Someone had lit a small fire and already there was a small group of Rangers and Pirates crowded around it... Machia sat nearby with his back against a tree and his hat pulled over his eyes... To the passing Raner or Pirate he appeared to be asleep, but in reality The First Mate felt that he'd never felt more wide awake or uneasy... The steady trickle of rain running down his back helped.... But the main reason Machia was very uneasy and watchfull was because, all had been very quiet that day... NOthing had happened.... Not only had they not seen any orcs in the woods, but nothing had been heard from Twilight or the group at Cair Paravel either... Machia was listening carefully for any noise from the woods outside the camp or any hint of a DV... Another cold breeze swept through the camp and Machia pulled the collar of his weather-stained coat up around his neck to try to stop the flow of water coming off of his hat... It was going to be a long night...

ooc- Continued from my last post:

ic- The Dwarf looked at IOWW and Twilight defensively.
"Talk? You want to talk?" The Dwarf had an angry look on his face. " She didn't bother to talk when she burnt down our villages! Nor when she tortured our people!"
"It wasn't her!" IOWW shouted defensively," She was being controled! You've known her since she was a child, why wont you give her a second chance? It was a dark time, Master Dwarf, but times are getting darker. And we need your help!" The Dwarf stood silently for a moment, but then slowly lowered his bow. Aftwer calling the names of five other dwarves, he told Twilight, IOWW and Eladin to come in. So, they walked slowly into the cave. Although they would have felt much more happier if they weren't being held at arrow point by five dwarves.
