Return of the Lions. (Melia's pide.)

Melia glanced up at her mother, she gave a weak smile. "Yeah...yeah, of course. Everythings great...I'm just...tired. Ya know, from the walk." She tried to sound reassuring though her eyes betrayed her.

Suddenly a young female cub with shere black fur came and tackled Zong, it was his sister, Feline. "Missed me?" She teased, now pinning him playfully to the ground.

Zong glared over to his sister " No, why would I miss you?,"He ask, with a giggle then pounce on top of her making them roll down the hill.

Aslan, Zion and the rest of the adults sat by now, watching the cubs play for a long moment. "Behold the fleeting glimmer of innocence.", Zion sighed at last. "How quickly it comes and goes."

"Oh, but you will," Aslan replied, as he looked over in her direction. "All things take place in due time, dear ones." he finished. The sun had now almost completely set in the western horizon. Only a sliver of golden light remained as the rest of the sky now became a blanket of velvety blue. One by one, the stars began to come out.

Zong glared over to his sister " No, why would I miss you?,"He ask, with a giggle then pounce on top of her making them roll down the hill.

She flipped as soon as they hit the bottem of the small hill, pinning him once more. "Ha! Pinned ya again." She grinned. "Take that as a lesson." She teased. Though her ears twitched a moment later, suddenly an uneasyness fell over the land and Feline's eyes widened in horror when she seen what was behind her brother. "Oh my gosh....it's a monster!!! RUN!!" She screamed, it was none other then a hyhena, its eyes seemed to glow green in the eery moonlight. "Come on you slow poke!! Don't you know what it means to run!! If a monster is chasing you, you run!!" Scolwing, Feline grabbed her brother by the scruff of his neck and drug him along with her as
the hyhena let out a manic laugh and took chase.

Melia's ears shot up at the familair sound of a laugh, it was a sinister one she had grown to learn all to well in her own cub years. She looked at the others, concern lit her eyes. "Did you hear that?" they heard a scream... Without waiting for a reply, Melia quickly stood up and ran down the hill.

At once the rest of the group knew what the sound was coming from. Instantaneously, Aslan and Zion took off as well and soon caught up with Melia. They were racing to get to the cubs, who had been playing in the greasses not too far away when they had heard the sound of the hyena's sinister laughter. The three of them reached the cubs in the nick of time. Aslan and Zion each grabbing a cub by the ruff of its neck and then helping them from there onto their backs. They, with Melia alongside, ran another considerable bit of distance back toward the forest for cover. They then quickly left the two cubs in the care of Lilly and moved to make an intercept course with the strange hyena.

Feline let out a sharp cry, she tripped over a small rock, though before she hit the gound, she felt herself quickly picked up and carried to the safety of Melia's mother, Lilly. Those few moments flashed within her memory, and she ran to the edge of the hill, with Zong alongside her, curious to catch a better view of the adults encounter with the Hyhena.

Melia walked ahead a slight distance, feeling the distinct need to protect her family, but stopped abrubtly when she caught site of the Hyhena, who was now standing at a still, an evil grin painted across it's face. There was a glint in the animals eyes that looked slightly familair.

"Well..well...if it isn't little Melia....my have you grown." The Hyhena taunted, he circled Melia, eyeing her up and down, before finally backing away when Aslan and Zion stopped on either side.

"Oh don't tell me you don't remember me....Princess...or should I say...young Queen?"

Melia's eyes widened in shere horror.

The Hyhena let out another cruel laugh. "I see...you have remembered."

"What do you want?" The young lioness snarled, finally reconizing him as the Hyhena from so long ago who had taken her captive, until Aslan lept out from the bushes to her rescue, the one who had taunted and laughed, cruely informing her of her dear friend's death from so long ago...the lion Aslan had sent as messanger but never returned. She had only met him once...still...she couldn't help but wish she had gotten the chance to know him a bit more before having to say goodbye....a word she had learned to hate.

"Ah...we do have a lot to catch up on, don't we?" The hyena looked her strait in the eye. "And just think...you thought all your problems were over. Nice fantasy...to bad that is all it will ever be."

Melia's thoughts immiditely returned to Orion...she wondered if it were such a good idea to come alone after all, but quickly shook the thought away, for it wouldn't matter now, she can't go back in time. Still...she feared for his safety, it was eveident in her safire eyes which had now dimmed to a deep sea blue, a color they would often turn whenever she were upset or depressed. She also feared for her family....what had she really done by returning home?

ooc: Umm...ok I forget, how exactly, are Zong and Feline related to Lilly?:p

Aslan stepped forward and spoke. His voice was not loud but definitely assertive. "You are not native to this place and are an outsider. State your business for incroaching on Narnian lands... or prepare to be escorted back to the border."

The Hyena took a few steps back, though stood his ground, even still. "These lands rightfully belong to the deamon...the one that foolish cub Orion defeated not to long ago." He snapped.

Melia stood beside her father, she glared at the Hyhena, barring her fangs. "These lands belong to my father. Not your monster of a leader." She growled, inwardly she couldn't help but feel that Jadis may have survived somehow, but shook the unpleasent thought away.

"Ah...but not for long." He took another step back, sporting an evil grin, a wolf back stepped out from behind him and even in the dim light of the moon they could now see he did not come alone.

Lilly got in front of him" You get off this land now,"She told him, with a growl

Zong came running in front of his Uncle's leg " Uncle Zion who are they?,"He ask.

Feline was right behind him, she leapt ontop of Zion's back fearfully. "What do they want?" She asked, peeking up at the growling Hyena who's gaze was now set on Lilly.

"Don't you want to hear the news?" The eerie grin never left his face.

Zion very quickly used his right front paw to bring the cub close and shield him from the intruders. He whispered to Feline, who was now on his back, "Climb onto my shoulder and stay very close, both of you. THey are wolves and hyenas and they don't belong here." His voice was patient but was tinged with a wariness that was quite tangible. The grup continued to glare at the unwelcomed visitors, whoose eerie eyes now shown back at them in the moonlight. The night had suddenly fallen very dark. The stars that filled the sky moments ago were all but invisible. This left Zion to think that somehow the sky had clouded over. The only clear part of it remained near the moon, which one could tell quite easily that it was all but full. Other than the glowing eyes, one could make out only sihluettes of the intruders. Zion hoped that the clouds would not incroach on the moon completely, lest it become very difficult to see their unwanted guests.

Fear clucthed Feline's heart at the odd change of weather, suddenly, an uneasy feeling washed throughout them all, she reached down to help her brother, then climbing onto his shoulder, she held on for dear life, peeking her head slightly above his golden mane, still curious to get a view of what events would take place in the next few moments.

Melia looked up at the sky, a strange feeling overtook her and suddenly she felt as if she were just a cub again, it was the night the wolves had attacked Aslan, again, she stood beside him, Lilly, Zion, and the cubs. Ready to defend and lash out at the enemy at any given moment.

"A darkness is coming...." The hynena's voice seemed to hiss in the dark of the night as the wolf pack moved in closer, it wasn't long before they had them surrounded. Melia crouched low to the ground, grolwing a deep, feairce growl that warned them not to come near. "Touch any one of them and your dead..." Her blue eyes peairced the flickering ones of the Hyhena.

"My dear Melia...maybe you havn't noticed....we already are."

(Oooooooh... that gave me goosebumps!)

Right at that very moment, a strange wind came howling from the north. A bolt of lightning split the blackened sky followed by a rumble of thunder so heavy that it nearly felt as if the ground beneath their feet was quaking!

(hehe, thankies. :D I loved yur post!)

Feline let out a scream at the sound of booming thunder, lighting lit up the sky, at once, then came down to strike the vary grounds of the earth beneah them. She burried her face within Zion's mane, her body now trembling.

Melia's eyes filled with a mix of anger, sorrow, greif, and vengence all at once. "No...but thats impossible!" She cried, catching her footing as the jolt of electricity peairced into the earth, almost knocking them to the ground.

"Nothing is impossible..." The Hyhena let out a shrill laugh as the storm raged on, his voice ecoed evilly within the storm. This was no naturel chain of events... This storm, much like the last, was not controlled by mere weather alone.

"Attack!!" He lept on Zion's back and attempted to take hold of Feline as a wolf tried the same with Zong. The fight began... A wolf lept upon Lilly, while the others went for Aslan and Melia.

Melia flung herself on a wolf who attempted to swipe at her father's kneck, She pinned it to the ground. Looking deep into it's eyes, she lifting a paw, then slowly brought it down.... Something within her had stopped her from slaying the creature...

"What's the matter young one? Too cowardly to kill me?" The wolf under her grasp sneered.

Fire lit Melia's eyes. "I know you....who are you?" She grolwed, noticing a flicker of white marking the wolf's left ear.

"Too bad you won't live long enough to find out..." He grinned evilly, as a few wolves lept upon her back, she felt their claws dig into her delivate skin, but ignored the pain and the crimson liguid now dripping down her back, her only concern was her family.

"Let me go ya big dummy!!" She could hear the faint cries of Feline... She was clawing desperately at the Hyhena's muzzle in an attempt to break free of it's death grip. The Hyhena tightened it's grip. "Keep quiet ya little brat...lest I loose my patience and decide to kill you now." He snarled.

Feline glared up at him. "What do you want with us anyways? We wouldn't taste good as your dinner! For all you know, Zong and I could be poisoness!"

"We don't wanna eat you! Yuck! Imagine lion stew...how gross!" The hyhena shuddered and Feline grinned, suddenly an idea popped into her head. "Look over there! Uncle Zion, and Lilly are getting away! Ya better go catch them..."

"What!?" He stupidly looked away just long enough for her to scratch his right eye, he let out a cry, releasing her for a breif moment. Feline took the first chance of escape and bolted. She ran over to Lilly, hiding underneath her paws. "If they don't wanna eat us..then what do they want with us?" She asked, looking over at Zion, she seen him attacked by a wolf and gasped. "What's going on!?"

Right about this moment Vatani ran up with Simba at her side. She looked at him in horror. "I swear we leave for 20 minutes and everyones gettin eaten!" She exclaimed.

(Oh, man!!!!! LOVED that part!!!)

Zion, shaken but unharmed, clawed the pesky hyenas away. "Something very strange is happening!" he said, looking in the direction of Aslan. For a second they exchanged glances. Then at once Aslan let out an ear-splitting ROOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRR that was louder than even the thunder that continued to rumble overhead. All at once, the pack of hyena and wolves stopped dead in their tracks. They appeared to be unhurt, but otherwise unable to move.

(Aww, thanks!! Dude, I could almost hear his raor! That was AMAZING!^^)

They stood there...as if frozen in time. Finally after what seemed like hours but in actual reality were merely a few minutes, the lead wolf spoke. "You may have won the battle Great King...but the war has just begun. we are not known to give up easily...take need to this warning." He shifted his gaze from Aslan, to Zion, then Lilly...the cubs...and finally, Melia who glared back at him from her place, now beside her Uncle.
"We have a new leader now...and he will become your worst nightmare. Not even you, Aslan, or your little family will be able to defeat him..." He shifted his eyes to land on Melia. "Hmm...it's a shame you never got a chance to say goodbye to those of your pride...little Queen." An evil grin spread across his face before he let out a long holw and led his pack into the woods.
Melia stared after them until they dissapeared within the darkness of the trees. The storm continued to rage...a loud thunder cracked the open sky as if someone were angry, though not a moment later the weather seemed to begin to calm.

Melia limped over to Aslan...though she tried not to show it, she was fearful for Orion and the pride she left behind. "What he's saying...it can't be true. There's no way" She whispered, suddenly feeling helpless and weak, trying to convince herself more then him.

Feline, not understanding what was going on, ran over to Aslan and lept upon his back, she climed to stand on his head and peared down at him curiosily. "Why were they even here?" She asked innocene shimmering within her eyes.

Vatani looked at Zion. "What...was that all about?" She asked confused, looking from Simba, back to Zion.
