Simon Curtis as Caspian? Opinions please! :)

well to that I say thank you!

I understand that I might not be what you pictured, but has anyone else you know of actually gone through and annotated an entire copy of the series' anthology? I did! lol I went through and annotated everything in relation to subtext, connotative meanings (in reference to Biblical and religious allusions/analogies, etc), and I did this to every single book of the series.

If that's not a testament to my fandom than I don't know what is! lol
Hopefully I can sway your opinion on my Caspian Potential...

On a side not, I did find that Caspian was the lightest in terms of allusion and subtext, and that The Silver Chair, LWW and of course, The Last Battle were the most robust. Horse and his Boy is also pretty heavy too.
are you trying to say you know about narina more than any of us? i also support you, now, oh what the heck! i don't understand! you seem nice...but so did evan, hes nice, but he gets mad at ppl when they suggest others...i just hope your not like that...
and b4 that thread, pcwb used to go al over the dancing lawn..now its only his thread...i think...i till love you evan...lol...

and btw, of course I don't get mad when someone else is suggested...cause most likely I nor anyone else on here will end up, in all actuality, getting the part. It's like winning the lottery!

I am just on here to guage fan's opinions and keep everyone posted on my grueling quest for a first audition :)

I would hope more people would participate in the fun too, rather than chide those who do.

ok, so far, i like you by your personality.... and i'm really happy thatyou know alot about narnia, and know that the books are the true things and if you don't like the books then you don't like the chronicles of narnia, you know that right?

Everyone i've seen on this forum really looks too old to be a truly authentic Caspian. But then, the rest of the cast is getting old fast, too...so maybe, you never know. But you should really start getting round to doing some applying and pestering by now, though...

They've taken the planning for PC far too slowly in general. Sadly I fear we may have already seen the only great Narnia film...

rael i think that too. they left the gap too big. like will is nopw 19!!!!! and skandar has grown so much! but it will be awesome never the less

yeah baby*gets out the non alcoholic champagne lol* i dont even think that exists. i think simon would make a good caspian. he doesnt look too old and he loks about the age of will so he owuld fit in perfectly! i onder wether they have started auditions and when will they pick their caspian?

Haha, seems as though this forum is quite a more peaceful place than the thread of pcwb. eep

Thanks for the opinions guys! they mean so much

Seems as though hope is fading rather quickly for the chance of the audition though :(

its gonna be so hard to see this darned movie knowing I didn't even get to audition! I absolutely HATE that all the fantasy movies that cast unknown kids cast only in England...the filmmakers act as though American kids are incapable.

Truly annoying

lmfo i was always on the simon side i just thought that alex would make a great caspian too!
lmfo i dont think that that is what they think! i just think that maybe they want to keep the moviesas original as possible. and maybe c.s lewis would have wanted it that way!but i know what ya mean! its gonna suck
you are just gonna have to bear it

Hey!!....he's not attacking anyone personally, just the notion of British actors = excellent fantasy series protagonists. I agree with his position and will back him up against the likes of Rael or anyone who proceeds to make negative PERSONAL attacks against him. Of course I'll defend our shared position on the issue, but I'll only take serious offense to personal attacks. So come on...lay off him...please.

See ya on the flipside, :fightmonk:

Cyon Corell

whats fightmonk?

anyways, yeah everything seems to be going crazy on these forums now that prince caspian is open for auditions, the dancing lawns prince caspian portraiyer wannabees are probably doing all they can to audition.

good luck

haha lol, yeah it is all in peace!

But I mean, come on, you guys know what I am talking about...

I can see Harry Potter casting in England only because they're all British kids, LWW cause the four kids are British, etc.

But take Eragon for instance, American book by an American author set in a fantasy world based on Montana; where do they look for Eragon? England and England only.

With Prince Caspian and many other of the Narnia stories, there are characters who very well aren't British...and since the book never specifies one way or the other for Caspian, then I guess no one can really know. I just get rubbed a little raw when I learn that I can't even audition for one of my dream film roles simply because it is a trend to cast British unknowns.

oy vey

lol

haha, I'm really not bitter at all, just trying to clarify :)

*sigh

I guess I will just have to wait until The Legend of Zelda gets made into a movie so I can be Link :p

Well, seeing as us Brits no longer lead the world in anything except bad weather, British kids need to be given the chance to shine in something...

Caspian, being Narnian, is not necessarily alike to any nationality this world has to offer, but because the books have such an English feel about them, a discordant accent would seem very out of place. I'm sure that's all it is.

i see ya point rael and i didnt think of that but some american people can put on an english accent but you are right
thats not weird. where do you write them? like in a notebook or diary?
