Simon Curtis as Caspian? Opinions please! :)

I think it was LucytheMarshwiggle, a.k.a. TDL's Greek Goddess (I'm TDL'S Greek God,btw).

Well, seeing as us Brits no longer lead the world in anything except bad weather, British kids need to be given the chance to shine in something...

Caspian, being Narnian, is not necessarily alike to any nationality this world has to offer, but because the books have such an English feel about them, a discordant accent would seem very out of place. I'm sure that's all it is.

Patrick Kake (Orieus)played with an American accent and it wasn't discordant at all.

But I would absolutely hate it if someone played the part with a southern draaaawwwwlll. (sorry southerners, I'm not really trying to pick a fight really.)

What have you got against southerners?? I happen to live in the south, thank you very much. But actually I'm a yankee so I'm not technichally a southerner... Anyway... I don't think someone who talked with a nice southern "twang" should have a part either... that would be weird. I think most people just expect the actors to be British. Although I guess an American could possibly pull off Caspian...maybe. Btw Simon, I'm supporting all the TDL wannabes... :)

If Orlando Bloom, Ewan McGregor, and Eric Bana can pull off somewhat convincing American accents, I think an American with training can pull off a Brit accent.

whoa!! but taking into concideration tha those actors live in america! but yeah anyone can pull off an accent as long as they practise and are taught!

I have nothing against southerners (one of my best friends is a southerner) but I don't like their accent.

hey guys, yeah my manager got an email from Pippa Hall, and said that she had no intention of seeing any American kids :(

but I am still working with my manager at some other things, time is running out though, so who knows...I've really given this my all, but I really don't think it will pan out (getting an audition that is). Which is sad, cause this really is a dream role of mine.

But I guess there is always another...

Filmed my first movie on Sunday though, it was really very fun. It is a small, independent horror film called The Intervention.

I hereby boycott these films. I guess this is what happens when a fine enterprise such a CON becomes consumerised. It nearly happened with Fight Club, but for the most part has failed (along with that crappy game, which makes me wish Pahalniuk hadn't sold the rights to the film,etc.). Well, here's to them failing, because I honestly believe Pippa will choose someone who lacks any talent, thus destroying any hope for the future of the series. They were lucky to find some talent last time around, in that case in perhaps ONE of the Pevensies. But, with the lack of options that they are championing, they're chances are slim of repeating even those results. Oh well, perhaps I'll produce a remake, sometime in the future, or perhaps this should just sink into the bog, under the weight of their arrogance.....

i dont think so. i think pippa hall isgood at her job and i think she will pick someone who is best suited to the character tha they are looking for!

That's just 'cause, from an ad hominem perspective, you're, presumably, a Brit. I guess, unfortunately, Hitler didn't fail  . When they present yet another Nordic warrior prince as the hero-boy  .....you finish for me. Well, screw this.

Smell ya later FOREVER,  :ubersuperfightmonk:

Cyon don't you think that you're being a little immature?

In the first place, all the Caspian-hopefuls I've seen on this forum are too old to be Caspian. Caspian is 13 and 4'5" or something close to that.
Secondly. It's very understandable why Pippa wouldn't want an American to be Caspian... continuity! The books are British, the children are British, and the movie is British!
You really should bash someone just because they're doing their job. My Dad gets that all the time at his job, and it really don't like it!

Please, act your age!

hmm is it me or does Caspiankid look too, umm whats the word....'manufactured'. Its just as if he was born to be in one of those cheesy american daytime shows the 'bold and the beautiful', 'days of our lives' etc. where everyone is genetically beautiful, you'd fit right in. I mean the hair, the chiselled looks is definitely not what Andrew is looking for I think he phrased it as the 'Chocolate box' type kid- you'd be the turkish delight nice and good looking on the outside but a nasty taste/after taste to follow.

Buy British meat is what I say, although there might be the odd chance of BSE 'mad cow disease', deadly infectous 'foot and mouth' (so avoid our meat)and so what if we have bad teeth, considered the fattest country in Europe, eat bland food and have crappy weather. At least none of the Narnian kids look half as chiselled as 'Caspiankid', hey even William Moseley had 'Baby fat' whether fans disagree, It the honest truth. I honestly think that Caspiankid should stick to his music, he will find his niche there amoung the Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake's and every other teenage sensations breaking out of America. Well I like to wallow in self-pity listening to bands that brought you 'Coldplay' making me so insignificant I just dont want to exist anymore. C'est la vie!!!

(Please note this whole post is in jest, your reading from an ass right here hence the screen name, its not to offend anyone but to laugh at ourselves, its my British sense of humour) :D
