Yeeeaaaahhhh ... I might be able to do that. I have to go see if it's anywhere near me. Hurray! I saw it again on an airplane the other day, but that's a tiny screen. I would like to see it on the towering Imax.
 
I generally am not big on ST, but I loved the new movie! I thought it was good fun top to bottom, and looked great visually. Also, the trailer music is EPIC, listen to it all the time.

Favorite Character: Future Naomi Wildman (but favorite regular character is Tuvok)
Favorite Episode: VOY: Course: Oblivion

On this Michelle Forbes conversation... I'm very surprised. Before coming to this thread, I was not actually aware that Michelle Forbes played Admiral Cain. I totally didn't recognize her at all.
 
Welcome, Sintar. I didn't see you post before. Voyager and Entertprise are the only series I never got totally into ... but I plan to start Tivoing Voyager if re-runs are on now and try to catch up on it, it looks like it would be cool.

I like Star Trek. Not obsessively, but pretty much a lot. My favorite series has got to be Enterprise.

I'm a NEW Trekkie. How new? I just became one LAST NIGHT when I watched the new movie. I LOVED it. Haven't seen any of the old series' before.
Spock has got to be my favorite. :)
 
Wow, a new Trekkie! Congratulations ... Spock was awesome in the film I agree, and I like his romance with Uhura ...

I wonder if you will like any of the old TV shows?! Maybe not because they are quite different from the film ... You will have to let us know. :)

Mom thinks I might be a little disappointed if I saw the old ones...Lol. She was a big time Trekkie when she was younger, but she said she really, really liked the new one and that she almost liked it better than the old ones!

I saw one of the old ones (from the very first ones they did) and it was pretty good. I think I've seen three different types now.
 
I saw the new movie on DVD last night. It was pretty good. I like the new Scotty the best. Having Uhura as Spock's girl friend was kind of not good. It should have been Nurse Chapel.

Yah, Chapel always liked Spock ... but she wasn't a main character like Uhuru. I liked the romance in the movie, and I liked the actress who played her, she was lovely and spunky.

I just read a Start Trek ToS novel, "Crucible" about Captain Kirk time traveling all over the place. The dust jacket said it was going to go back to that pivotal moment when he didn't change history by not saving Edith Keeler's life ... and the book did get there ... but mostly it was Kirk's inner dialog about why he'd never been able to really fall in love again after her, and it was kind of dull.

There are two other "Crucible" books, one about Spock and one about McCoy, but I did not realize they were published prior to this one and probably should have been read in order. Maybe it would have made more sense.
 
I screencapped the new film on Saturday. If anyone would like any screencaps of any scene or person in particular I would gladly share, though I got 454 screencaps and 291 of those screencaps were Spock. :p
