I finally updated my siggie with new quotes. Well, not technically new. Lol.
Star Trek has raked in 278.5 million dollars worldwide, and is still 3rd in America's box office. It's the highest grossing Star Trek film to date, is the highest grossing film (so far) of 2009, AND is the 1st film of 2009 to reach 200 million dollars.
If there was any concern over whether it would make money, I doubt that anyone has concerns now.
I loved this movie i loved Zachery quinto as Spock and the new Kirk was good looking and i loved the new MC coy he was awesome i saw it twice and read the book i think my star trek obession is reruting and its bringing my story back with it.
I think star trek was awsome completly and there was some stuff i was like what that don't fit in with the storyline and some of it was wrong
But still the naming of kirk was sad and funny at the same time, I cried when Spock lost amanda.
I think everyone did a good job and JJ Abrams really did startrek justtice even though some of the stuff i could do without.
I think its a good re invent of the franchise. They did good with the CAsting Zoey was awsome as Uhura. Zachery Quinto really did good with young spock, Chris pine was a great kirk. Karl urben awsome mc coy.
For anyone really familiar with the original series, in "The Man Trap" (think salt eating shape shifter) it's let slip that one of McCoy's love interests used to call him "Plum". Blushing, he admits, "Yes, that was her name for me."
I had the urge...the strong urge...to shout, "Hey, Plum!" when McCoy first appeared on screen.
If you have the episode, go to the spot where McCoy enters the subterranean house where Nancy Crater sees him for the first time in years she calls him "Plum". "Plum?" Kirk asks. "That's what she used to call me."
I hope everyone had a great Captain Picard Day yesterday (June 16). Yes, that is the actual day that it takes place (took place? will take place?).
In the TNG episode called "Pegasus", it begins with the Captain and Riker looking at the artwork entered for Captain Picard Day. The stardate was 47457.1, which the Trekkie nerds (I say that lovingly as I admit to being a Star trek nerd) have calculated to occur on June 16.

LOL! I am such a Trek fan, and I had no idea. You go, Mr Bob!
TNG isn't my favorite Trek, though. I think my favorites are in this order:
1. ToS - grew up with it
2. DS 9 - I don't know why; I like Quark and Odo and Kira
3. TNG - I like it a lot and have seen more of it than DS9, and liked a lot of the plots ... but for some reason ... it doesn't resonate like ToS
4. Voyager - never got that far into it - one day I'll have to rent all the episodes and watch in order
5. Enterprise - only watched the first episode and it didn't interest me much
Like you, Ink, TNG was never one of my faves. Picard and his crew, except for Deanna, annoyed the heck out of me. I'm doing good enough to just watch the movies. Voyager I love because it was the first Trek series I ever watched. ToS is a 2nd fav because my dad and I watch it every week on Sunday night, and he loves the original Trek, so it's something we can share. DS9, I refuse to watch because of a homosexual kiss between two women. I saw the clip on YouTUbe and determined that I will never watch the show. I'd rather watch Enterprise, which I greatly dislike, but I like Commander Tucker (I think his nickname is Trip?). However, Archer, T'Pol, and Phlox all annoy me. There is a good reason it was canceled because of low ratings.
