The Look of the White Witch

Well, the new trailer revealed that Aslan's eyes are not going to be green...

So now they've missed the witch, Aslan, and they have Polar Bears pulling the sleigh instead of reindeer.

I'm developing doubts. :(

lol dont worry bout it SOA, does it mention in the books what colour his eyes are? :(

Yes it does. It says they're green in the Magician's Nephew, I think.

Which is important to me for, no doubt, Lewis derived that from the fact that Christ is the "Lion of the tribe of Judah" and Judah's stone in the high priest's breastplate is a emerald. Not to mention the fact that the fourth foundation stone in the New Jerusalem (the only stone that positionally corresponds with the priest's breastplate, I might add) is also a emerald.

And the rainbow around the throne is green like a emerald in Revelations.

As a consequence, Aslan's green eyes has always added a majestic element to the stories. Well, to me anyway.

I am very excited about the movie coming out and it looks great so far. However, I have one complaint, and it may seem like nit-picking, but it is bothering me.

I had always pictured the white witch as having black hair - mainly by the drawings in C.S. Lewis's book - and the look of the white witch so far is a total departure from what I had always imagined as a child.

I am very disappointed in regards to her look.

I would like to know if I am the only one who feels this way about this.

thanks,
Aslan1981

I think you are right. I always imagine her with long black hair and much more beatiful and attractive. Because in the Magician's Nephew, she was described very tall, very cruel, but very beatiful (of course polly disagree with that :D ) She is an empress, not a sad-face slave!

Welcome, Geschichte (sp?!). I didn't see you post before.

I still think Tilda will be brilliant. If blonde.

Tilda Swinton said so herself she wanted the White Witch to look arian. In other words white. She said everyone imagines the White Witchwith black hair, black eyeliner, red nails, and red lips. But Tilda wanted her to look more like a Nazi.During world War 2 those are the kind of people were the ones fighting.
