Yeah he has some stuff from Susan Fletcher I believe....the way you speak to dragons....that is in "Flight of the Dragon Kyn" and "Dragons Milk" anyway his pulling from other stuff makes it cool....plus alot of people have been doing that lately....I love the books!

On the other hand I am not looking forward to the movie....they always mess them up!!! Holes and Princess Bride are the only excpetions.

I'm looking forward to the movie. I mean.. it's more of pride for my country, this is the first time it's really been publisized like this and filiming Eragon there will be good for it.

Let's just say Paolini is VERY VERY inspired by Tolkien. lol

But yes, this books are wonderful--great fantasy reads...even if they aren't that original. I spent the three weeks when I was without power or electricity (thank you Katrina) lying outside reading them. (It was the hot summer, of course, so I was lying under a shade tree with wind blowing...nothing to do but read read read...heh...so it wasn't that bad.

yeah, most movies that used to be books ruin the effect the book has...id say the only good one was Narnia. but i still cant wait to see it!! sometimes i wish that they could get the descriptions right, cuz some of the cast doesnt look at all like they're supposed to look(he describes them in the books)! i mean its like, couldnt they find someone thats a good actor but still looks like the character is supposed to?!?!?! thats my opinion anyway...

I'm not so sure that looks are as importent because I imagine the characters diffently from you and you differntly from the next person...it all depends on the reader, the only time its a problem is if there is something very disticnt like the person was say fat, or had long black hair, and they say that and then the movie people give them something different...thats the only time I have a problem with it.....Like in Narnia, Tildas hair is blonde but in the books her hair was black.....oh well....anyway no I dont think they did as good a job as they could have on narnia!

Well.. ummm.. Tilda even said in an interview she's happy to play the white witch because it's always the dark people who are mean and it's a change.

I've read Eragon, I would definately say he was very, very inspired by Tolkien. After reading it the second time you always notice these LOTR moments will a thin veil between originality and being a copy cat. I've heard the second one is really bad (reviews on Amazon.com), but I haven't read it yet.

ack! dont listen to reveiws Rohan Princess! Gosh If I llistened to reveiws I wouldnt have some of the best books ever as my favorite....the reveiws also said about star wars 3 that there was an electric chair....and there wasnt....so obviously they lie!

hm.. the second one wasnt bad... i dont thnk that wither of them were that awsome, but they were ok... intresting enough to read... but not a must.

ahh Eragon has driven me crazy, I said something in my head and thought that mom had heard me. Relized she hadnt before I got mad for her ignoring me....ugg

NOT true. You will notice some LOTR "ideas' in Eragon, but Paolini's writing style has matured so much since then.

The Eldest is an excellent book. Don't believe everything you read :)
